@SportsnetSpec I didn't say confront; I said ask. And yes, it's material that it was in response to a question rather than being unprompted. But I'm less worried about tone than message. And it's especially notable because it's not the first time an Oilers star has delivered that message.

@JonathanWillis Not saying there was no innuendo, or disputing his quotes He did not tell the media to confront Knoblauch the way you stated. I was there. It wasn’t like that.

The "pillow fight" quote was great, but nowhere near as important as McDavid telling reports to go ask Knoblauch what the Oilers need to do to be as well-coached and organized as the Tampa Bay Lightning.

@SportsnetSpec He raved about how well-coached and rehearsed and organized the Tampa Bay Lightning were. Then when he was asked what the Oilers had to do to get to that level he said it was a coaching question and to go ask Knoblauch. That's pretty plain, no?

McDavid post game on the lightning “They got a great system. They’re perfectly coached. They all know what they’re doing all over the ice. It’s impressive. They are a great team.” “They’re extremely well coached they’re extremely well organized. They’re very very rehearsed in everything that they do. It’s very impressive and when you do break them down, they got a heck of a goalie to back stop them.” I Asked him how they can get to that place with their system. “That’s a coaching question you can ask Knobber that question. Obviously we’ve been play together a long time and we feel like we’re somewhat rehearsed and organized, but not to their level.”

There are really only two spots available to those six teams. If Edmonton plays the next 20 the way it played the last 25, it's going to miss the playoffs.

Points over the last 25 games: - San Jose: 29 - Seattle: 28 - Winnipeg: 28 - Nashville: 26 - Edmonton: 24 - Los Angeles: 23 There are ~20 games available to all these teams. At present, Winnipeg needs to gain 5-6 more points on one of San Jose, Seattle and Edmonton.
Andrew Knoll@AndrewKnollNHL

The Jets are now within five points of a playoff berth. No one else seems to want it that badly (NSH, SJS, SEA, LAK). Like I said coming out of the break, I think Winnipeg can do it, though their margin is thin.

Henrique and Frederic have been out-scored 3 to 12 this season together at 5-on-5. That’s a **20** percent goal share. Simply mind-boggling why they’re still together.

KK panics when down a goal or two and puts 29 with 97-18 This year both 29 and 97-18 score more frequently when apart than together so he is degrading the offensive output of the whole team when he does this The expected goal frequency is slightly higher but not enough to justify

In the early 90s, I was a bartender at a place called the Elephant & Castle in the Eaton Center. John Colicos would come in from time to time and have a drink… One day he came in, sat down and the guy next to him immediately asked for his bill. I said, “What’s the rush? He said, “I don’t like drinking with Klingons.” We laughed, but the guy actually left the bar! #truestory
Craig Baird - Canadian History Ehx@CraigBaird

John Colicos was the first man to portray a Klingon on Star Trek. He was a veteran of the Stratford Festival. He acted in The National Dream, voiced Apocalypse on X-Men: The Animated Series and much more. This is his story. 🧵 1/9

I like this theory, but Chicago did try to make Dach work with Bedard. Three hours at 5v5, heavy tilt in the OZ, and a 36 xGF%. I'd rather see Dach down in the AHL so that he can play in an offensive role and see what he does. If he does good things, you reconsider then.
Jack Han@JhanHky

Murphy and Dickinson should be plug-and-play for EDM. I'd try Dach on an offense-first line and see if there's something there. He's at his best in the OZ and when he can touch the puck multiple times in sequence (CHI34 below).
