@KannonShanmugam @McGuireWoodsLLP We’re delighted to have him join us!

Congratulations to my supremely talented friend Ryan Park, who is joining @McGuireWoodsLLP after serving as North Carolina Solicitor General:

@scottlincicome @senatorshoshana Got ya right where we want you
English

.@scottlincicome it's happening again
English

@RMFifthCircuit @jadler1969 Do you have a link to the opinion?
English

@jadler1969 I haven't looked at any of the underlying stuff. Maybe I will if I get a second.
English

@rshannonsmith Which is no doubt quite often

@JonathanYEllis I think of you when I think of Circuit City, @JonathanYEllis.

@WilliamBaude Check it out! And tell Ursula (the owner, baker, and my sister) that I sent you.

Found my go-to latke recipe tonight: cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/101553…

@KimberlyRobinsn Kimberly, I think you may have quote tweeted the wrong earlier tweet. No. 20-5398 is the capital case you previous tweeted about, not the patent case mentioned in the quoted tweet.

@TheRealAndyGass @creativecommons @lathamwatkins Not better, just different. Congrats @creativecommons, @TheRealAndyGass, and the rest of the team!

@creativecommons @lathamwatkins Thanks so much for the shout-out, but totally our privilege. And huge credit to the amazing LW team: Libby Yandell, Kris Hanson, Ivana Dukanovic, and especially @JonathanYEllis (before he found better things to do in the SG’s office).

@StephenESachs @danepps But see Bell v. Hood, 327 U.S. 678 (1946)
English

@danepps Not entirely! I take it an insubstantial federal claim is thought to be no federal claim at all.
But were it up to me, my instincts are the same as yours: it’s a fed claim, not a Cal- or NY-law claim. So his claim arises under federal law, and then just falls back down again.
English

Paging @StephenESachs who I’m sure has a well thought-out view here...
Dan Epps@danepps
I don’t really understand how frivolousness can mean the court lacks subject matter jurisdiction...seems like a quintessential merits question.

@Ann_OC @SCOTUSblog Is yours coming down tomorrow?

@Ann_OC Two weeks ago, Meredith and I landed an hour (!) early in Hawaii (!), and then waited an hour and a half for a gate. 😩

@jerdonovan @NCStateBaseball I've considered it. Heading to Raleigh for the weekend and hoping to catch some baseball on Saturday -- if the Pack can get the win today. I assume you're not around?
English

@JonathanYEllis @NCStateBaseball I did not know that. Thanks for the research; you should be an attorney!
English

@jerdonovan @NCStateBaseball NCAA Rules Sec. 6(c)(1): "A run is not score if a runner touches home plate while the third out is made on ... [t]he batter or proper batter-runner before the player touches first base."
English

@NCStateBaseball But they tagged, not forced. Still plays like a force?
