Many Bitcoin holders have self custody over their assets and this protects ownership but also creates a risk. If you lose access or die, the funds may remain locked forever. @BALTprotocol addresses this problem on @rootstock_io BALT (Bitcoin Anonymous Legascy Trust) protocol enables non custodial, onchain inheritance for Bitcoin backed assets. This means you can predefine who receives your funds if your wallet stays inactive for a set period of time. Supported assets include RBTC, DoC, and BPRO. Here’s How it works: Each vault defines 4 important parameters: The vault Owner address, The Heir address, Inactivity duration for the vault and Asset rules. With this in mind- • Assets move into a smart contract Inheritance Vault • The vault records the owner and the designated heir • You set an inactivity period measured in months • If the wallet stays inactive past that period, the contract releases the funds to the heir automatically. It’s that SIMPLE! No custodian. No manual intervention. It just executes through smart contracts on Rootstock. This system extends Bitcoin’s security model to estate planning. Control stays with the You the user while the transfer of assets remains transparent and verifiable onchain.
