Is it sinful to publicly rebuke sin and false prophecy in the church?

A close friend once told me… History does not remember the critic. No one knows the name of the person who beheaded John The Baptist.

If it is bad to be motivated by clicks and views (so goes the accusation) to expose evil, how much worse is it to be motivated by clicks and views (and money) to lie in God's name, scam innocent saints, teach doctrines of demons, and defend sexual predators?

@RonSCantor @thedarrenstott Darren's philosophy seems to be the only sin worth a rebuke is the rebuking of sin. In so doing he stands in opposition to true prophecy which brings people back into right relation with God. He is resisting the Holy Spirit and mocking the truth.

There is no such thing as "exposure ministry," @thedarrenstott. There is "accountability ministry," though. Why do you have trouble with people doing what the bible says? 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil. When the prophecy is public, so is the testing. The problem with your defense is that you did not go through the whole prophecy. You just chose little bits and pieces. You ignored the conflict of interest. I'll leave you with a great quote from someone you consider a prophet: However, he warns of the dangers of what he calls “prophetic witchcraft,” a practice where individuals misuse the prophetic gift for manipulation or personal gain. “Prophetic witchcraft occurs when people twist the words of God to control others,” Z says. He adds that this behavior can deceive believers and lead them away from the truth. “People begin to rely on prophets more than they rely on Jesus or the Bible, and that’s a problem.” The misuse of prophecy is especially concerning, he adds, when it is used to prey on people’s emotions and vulnerabilities. “There are prophets who tell people what they want to hear, not what God is saying. @malachiobrien You feel free to rebuke what you perceive to be a work of the flesh. Would you consider clergy sexual abuse a work of the flesh? What about lying and prophetic manipulation? What about unrepentant adultery? What about selling the Holy Spirit? Are you willing to rebuke that?

I wrote a book on overcoming accusation not to sell books, but to give language to what the vast majority of believers are feeling and sensing. (Link in comments) “Christian TMZ” — aka the “Failure Porn Cartel” or “Condemnation Culture” — is loud. It is fueled by the flesh, not by the Spirit. It is an assault on the Gospel itself. You can not have encounters with God and in obedience to the Spirit say such things. There are two kinds of people driving it 1. Those who build significance by posting video after video — very Candace Owens-like in style. Full of insinuation and religiously camouflaged opinion. Often cynical. Many seem less concerned with whether something is true and more concerned with whether people believe it is true. The collateral damage is devastating. The exploitation of pain is pervasive. 2. Those who flood the comments with vile and hateful statements. The people posting these videos rarely call for restraint or caution in the comment section. Why? Because they know exactly what they are stirring up. All of this is an assault on mercy, grace, forgiveness, and redemption. You will notice something else: the people making exposure videos never make videos exposing their own worst sins. Why? Because somehow their sin is always treated as less severe than the people they target. I have noticed that those who do ask for forgiveness or take ownership of things brought to light are NEVER given grace. Rather the repentance is judged through the lens of the cartel. I am convinced they want people to either kill themselves or go to Hell based on the replies and the public shames heaped upon people. Most, (not all), of what is called "church hurt" is not real. Sorry. It is not. You don't like authority or simply are not under any real spiritual covering. I FULLY KNOW THAT this post does not answer every legitimate question — and I understand that. Questions about accountability, justice, alleged victims, and how to address "fallen leaders" matter deeply. I intend to address those issues in future videos because they are valid questions. Most importantly, I want to see Jesus loved supremely above all else, and I want to see the Church love and build one another up instead of tearing each other apart. You want to come alive today? Go tell someone else about Jesus! Go spend an hour in prayer. Give yourself to a season of fasting. Watch what happens. Go read "Why revival tarries" by Ravenhill. You will find yourself on the floor repenting of your sins. Go serve in your church. Pray for your pastor. Encourage someone who is hurting. Love people more than ever. Life is too short to be triggered all the time. In the words of Tony Robbins: “Life is not what happens to you. It is the story you tell yourself about what happens to you.”

@seanfeucht is lying about @MikeWingerii in an attempt to tarnish his character. He brazenly lied about the WhatsApp message. He is lying about Mike criticizing Greg Locke after his son's tragic death. What else is Sean willing to lie about?

What about when those leaders lie about their involvement and allow known predators to roam freely amongst God's sheep? And you are wrong, the "first question" is not "repentance, restoration, and prayer" ... the first question is confrontation. If they respond in humility and brokenness, wonderful, then it can lead to all those things. You have won your brother (Matt. 18:15). But what we are seeing is famous NAR leaders lying and gaslighting anyone who confronts them, as your friend did to me last week.

Ok. Upon further reflection, I think Bill Johnson, Kris Valloton, AND Danny Silk should all resign. Silk’s response to Bethel’s acknowledgement indicates that he clearly has no clue about how bad what Bill and Kris did was and is simply gaslighting. He is literally applying the weaknesses of “Culture of Honor” right before our very eyes. Yes, there ARE bad guys. Yes, this WAS a cover-up. No, leaders were NOT protecting people. If Bethel is serious, they need to publicly denounce this statement as the exact opposite of what they just said they wanted to do. Because it is quite literally more of the same. So disappointing.
