The work was focused on the used of the benthic flux chamber to measured Hg fluxes in the sediment-water interface. The group of 4 PERMAMERC researchers was led by Rute Cesário.

Just presented the 1st results of Hg in thaw lakes and permafrost soils in 🇬🇱 at the 16 International Conf. on Hg as a Global Pollutant in Cape Town, 🇿🇦. Great results from @Permamerc team. Possible with funding from @INTERACT66, guidance of @TorbenRC and great @ZERO74N team.

Fieldwork in 🇨🇦Arctic is schedule for 25th. Now testing the benthic flux chamber in the swiming pool. Lets measure Hg and C fluxes in the sediment/water interface and find out if thaw lake sediments sources or sinks. That’s our question. @cqe_lisboa @deqist @istecnico @permamerc
