So tired of politicians using a nebulous notion of electability in order to win a primary. It’s always a tell that they have nothing of substance to offer their base.

@FrederickMelo @kar_nels St. Thomas, probably more than any other college/university in MN, has a specific and beautiful architectural language. Smooth, bright, Kasota limestone that stands out in the best way, both in Saint Paul and downtown Minneapolis. Let them build more of it!!!

To your untrained eye, these six houses along Summit are just everyday homes. They are not. They are residence halls, mostly for ROTC and transfer students, at St. Thomas. The university already owns them. They’re in a historic district but not officially “contributing” to it. Tear them down and allow St. Thomas to build majestic university buildings? What say you?

The University of St. Thomas wants to open up its 2004 conditional use permit and add residence halls and retail on Grand Avenue, two levels of parking at Anderson Parking on Cretin, and to remove six houses at Cretin/Summit for new academic buildings. It’s all conceptual so far. Here’s why, so far, for once, some neighbors don’t have pitchforks out: twincities.com/2026/03/22/uni…

I like Kat a ton, I think a version of her that stays put in the area has a very bright political future, *and* I do agree progressives have trouble consolidating. But, a ranked choice system for last night's election would have handed a win to: Daniel Biss. He was the least-offensive-to-all candidate, and I think that's pretty clear.

These are winnable elections.

Interesting take on why the most progressive candidates failed to win in Illinois tonight. The city’s left generally failed to pick a single candidate in some races and failed to build energy around others. Not a good strategy when opponents are organized and have tons of money.
