I recently talked with @JordanRaynor about how the advice to “follow your passions” can lead to a sense of entitlement, how to follow “the true, good, and beautiful” today to find your calling tomorrow, and how God uses pain to steer us to our callings: bit.ly/4lfv9MN
Love this new work by @JordanRaynor
Rightly this book concludes with a hope that it has baptized the imagination of readers. Indeed, it will! Mythical characters and superheroes are great for bedtime stories, but humans need epic stories of regular people living lives of faithfulness and fruitful impact. There are no mere humans, and too many Christians live in suspended animation due to anemic visions for life and vocation. I hope “FiveMere Christians” provokes an awakening of billions of humans to not merely live, but truly live an abundant, adventuresome life regardless of trade and context. God identifies in the Bible as the “God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,” and the 21stCentury extended edition is poised to read, “and…YOU!”
On Monday, @JordanRaynor joins me on the @EmbracingBroken podcast. The topic? His latest book, due out May 6th, is "Five Mere Christians: Binge-Worthy Biographies That Show You How to Glorify God in Your Work."
Don't miss this one.
Fred Rogers, glancing over at his friend in the church pew beside him, was shocked. The pastor in the pulpit, a man in his eighties, had just wrapped up what Fred called “the most poorly crafted sermon I had ever heard in my life.”
And yet, there was his friend, wiping tears from her eyes. “He said exactly what I needed to hear,” she whispered.
That terrible sermon? Exactly what she needed to hear? Fred thought in disbelief.
Later, he realized, “The Holy Spirit was able to translate the words of that feeble sermon to speak to the need of my friend…That experience changed my life. Ever since, I’ve been able to recognize that the space between someone who is offering the best he can and someone who is in need is Holy Ground.”

@JordanRaynor reading a book called “Heaven” by Randy Alcorn. He mentions that current art and literature will be a part of the new earth one day! I look forward to revisiting a number of your books that have impacted my life and work with even more clarity one day in Heaven. 🙏🏼

Jordan Raynor has a new children's book out today. It’s not that often I read a book dealing with Heaven when I feel like the author "gets it." Jordan has done his homework and really does! I think the smile of God is on "The Royal in You." a.co/d/bkPkwTM
We need more theologically robust & inspiring children's books. Thankfully, my friend @JordanRaynor's new one was released today. Please check it out. amazon.com/Royal-You-Jord…
