@Gigawipf Yeah that's basically what I ran into. I did think of also tilting the sensor towards the lens to avoid the shallow angles at the edges, but never tried it
English

@Jordan_Cormack Thats a very interesting approach to move the sensor in 2D to cover a larger range. Seems to provide a really good resolution as well from simple sensors. I assume the lens quality itself and shallow angles at the edges might be challenging for normal sensors.

I developed a portable linear scanning medium format camera capable of taking 16b 80000x40000 (3200MP) images.

@RoboFoundry @ncmreynolds Motor mounts and stand corners are both 3D printed (neither design quite good enough to share yet!). The stand is 4x 300mm and 100mm 2020 extrusion with standard 90° connectors.
Organisation is a constant evolving battle!

@Jordan_Cormack @ncmreynolds Looks really awesome, what are those four corner pieces? are they off-the-shelf or 3D printed? I like your organization of the tools as well!! Mine is much more adhock and always looking for some ideas to organize so thanks for sharing the pictures.
English

@RoboFoundry @ncmreynolds I made a stand from some spare 2020 extrusion and some 3D printed corners that cradle my motor mounts.
It seems to do a pretty good job at holding it securely when bench testing!

@ncmreynolds I remember now, saw it in this video of mining robot - youtube.com/watch?v=PvkYFZ… around 1:11 min mark.

@jarkman not really! it's got a massive payload, so it could be used for a bunch of stuff. Although I do like the idea of using it as a mobile drone take-off and landing platform
English

@jarkman This was using the original electronics that came with the 'hoverboards', but flashed with different firmware. Then there's a teensy to send motor commands to both driver boards over serial, with some ESPs for remote control.
English

@Jordan_Cormack It was looking good up till the end, though.
What are you using for controllers ?
English

@weasdown Is makerbeam XL 15x15mm? I'm using 20x20 extrusion for a little rover which can support my body weight, so I imagine 15x15 extrusion would be fine for 25kg. I'm also using the same motor drivers you mentioned in your other tweet, which work well!
