.@UAW represents the graduate student workers (TAs, RAs) and postdocs across all the campuses of the University of California. They've called a strike today (cost of living is ⬆️, salaries are 🪙 not 💰). As of 9am the quad outside at @UCSanDiego is rocking with their chants!

How about a cut of the PDF download cost per paper you reviewed? Your reviewed a paper that is more downloaded then you get a bigger cut? No downloads, no cut. Maybe, maybe, maybe?

Remind me, why do we review manuscripts for free? We get honorariums for giving talks, because our time is valuable... why do we do this for free for the journals?? Personally, I don't think getting an honorarium would compromise the reviewing system.
