This generation struggles with connection and not only because of social media. A lot of it comes down to fear. Fear of being vulnerable, fear of getting hurt, fear of staying when relationships become difficult. Instead of communicating, we disappear. Instead of building something real, we move on quickly and look for validation from people who barely know us, while overlooking the ones who genuinely care. We crave meaningful relationships, but often avoid the effort and patience they require. We mistake chaos for chemistry and drama for love. We keep score, hold onto resentment and dodge the uncomfortable conversations that actually strengthen trust. Then we end up feeling disconnected and wonder why real friendships and relationships seem harder to keep. That’s the truth a lot of people don’t want to admit.
