@higgins58946@tom_karnes@Ststansberry Hi abby, asking other teachers what resources they have used and also discussing with them my ideas would definitely help me feel less lost.
@tom_karnes A4) I would definitely consult my colleagues and other teachers to see what works best for them. That way I’d be able to discuss with them rather than trying to figure it all out on my own. #CSUBTED#CSUBEDTE4200@Ststansberry
Last evening of the Slow Chat! Here's the next question. Make sure you include A4) before your response. Don't forget to tag #CSUBTED , #CSUBEDTE4200, and your EDTE 4200 professor.
@ivettsedte4200@tom_karnes@Duncannedd Hi Ivett, gathering new ideas from those around us who have already used different methods can give us great insight and guide us to choose the best fit.
@tom_karnes A4) I would definitely go to other classmates or teachers to gather new ideas for new technology usage. I would also try them out to see what works best for me. It's important to constantly find new tools to utilize and expand our knowledge. #csubedte4200#CSUBTEd@Duncannedd

I can ask other teachers what resources do they find effective and why. I can know if it is a good fit by seeing how it is helping or not helping the students effectively learn in the way I intend them to and find one that fits my lesson.
@Ststansberry A3) I have helped my EL learner learn math concepts through instructional Spanish YouTube videos which I assign to her via Google Classroom. I also like using Google Translate for translating vocabulary words.

Google translate in mail and podcasts can help students succeed. You can send emails to students using the translate feature to track their individual learning. You can find relevant lesson podcasts in their language to help them keep up.

High school students can feel more prepared since their teacher is reminding them of close due dates or materials they need to bring. This can really benefit students who have very busy home lives in staying on task at school.
@doctor2pi One technology resource I would recommend is the use of remind 101. As a student in high school I loved the use of this & reminders, to bring certain materials, etc, kept me up to date. This works well & could be tied to the students/parents phone. #CSUBTED#EDTE4200@doctor2pi

Hi Hope, zoom allows a teacher to present a quick repass of the class. That way you can highlight the main points for the student who wasn’t present. You can even use google to create a small google slide for the student to study.
@doctor2pi A2) I would recommend using zoom! It has unique features that make it a helpful tool for students who are in differing situations & circumstances. For example, scheduling an online/video meeting when a student can’t attend in person.

Google Classroom has many helpful tools. You can use a google calendar and share it with students for due dates, you can comment on their assignments on google docs, and use translation features with non-english speaking students.

@hope_earnest@doctor2pi Hello Hope, I also plan on teaching High school students. I still don’t know what grade exactly I would prefer to teach but I know I definitely would like to teach high school. @Ststansberry#csubted#csubedte4200

@laineyelcano Hi Lainey, I so agree with you that using videos and even podcasts can help engage students. A small mini quiz can also be given after a video to help them review the main points. This is also a good way to enhance a teacher’s lesson. @Ststansberry#CSUBTED#csubedte4200
A1) Teachers can use technology for all different types of student needs. Academically, technology can be used to keep students engaged. Youtube videos can be used as a fun mini lesson for content areas that may be difficult to understand. #CSUBted#CSUBedte4200
@xlissetgonzalez@doctor2pi@tom_karnes Hi Lis, this helps students easily turn in assignments. I also like the feature on Google mail where you can translate. This makes it efficient to communicate with parents that speak a different language about anything relating a student. #csubted#csubedte4200@Ststansberry

I can use online assessments like Quizizz to help students memorize and learn in an engaging and competitive way. I can also include relevant podcasts or youtube videos that add to my lesson and will help them focus without getting bored.

In my Technology for Educators class I have learned many new ways to connect with other educators that I was not aware of before. I find this useful and I am glad I am learning how to connect with educators via blogs, twitter and Google Educator Forums.
