@miriwood @MrBang21 @DailyMail This is stupid; men & women yell in pain when they have other problems too. Older women often have mastectomies & hysterectomies because they're in pain. Men who get testicular cancer also experience pain. It would be asinine to suggest all of this should have done in infancy.

I've witnessed 2 ritual circumcisions & was relieved by the deftness & minimal pain (infants spritzed c lidocaine, & given a bit of brandy on gauze to suckle). Short yelp -->

@MrBang21 @DailyMail I've only had 1 pt who had full amputation from cancer. I've 'rescued' 3 or 4 stuck foreskins in senior men (still cross my legs in a weird empathy, remembering the screams). Were the appendix external, I'd support its prophylactic removal, also.

@DailyMail The very rare penile cancer is almost exclusively found in the uncircked: pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC31… Also exclusively in the uncircked is the stuck foreskin, which if not recognized (& painfully fixed) can lead to necrosis & amputation.

@Medisenz @TokeNTelescope @drhephzibah1 Based on your reply to the post after this, if the surgery is to correct a congenital deformed, e.g. cleft lip/palate, can it really be called "cosmetic?" Cleft lip, palate etc. are congenital deformities that affect a child's quality of life. Intact genitals are not the same.

@Medisenz @TokeNTelescope @drhephzibah1 These surgeries are fixing a problem that can affect the quality of life. A child with a cleft palate may not be able to eat well or breathe well for very long. Anatomically correct genitals are not the same thing as a congenital deformity.
