“My name is Nándi. This is Framer University. And...let’s get started.” If you ever watched his tutorials, you know this line. Now here’s the part I didn’t see coming. Let me tell you why I was living in a lie. Alright… only for a while. And to be fair, it wasn’t a bad lie. About two years ago, when I started my Framer journey, Nandi and I became really good friends. Same values about design, same obsession with @framer, same attitude about how things should be done and built. I visited him with my wife, he came over to our place, we talked every week, bouncing ideas all the time. And we still talk every week. Then one day I discovered Jet in the Marketplace. I told him, “There’s this guy called Orin… and I have no idea who the hell he is, but this template is insane.” I went through the whole thing piece by piece. Analyzed it. Dissected it. Tried to figure out how it works, how someone can build something so well structured and professional, and I kept explaining to him why I felt that way. He just listened. Quiet. Asking questions. Digging deeper. Pulling every opinion out of me. Still keeping a proper stiff upper lip. Not once… not a single time… did he say that it was his template. The cheeky bastard sat there in silence while I was hyping up his own work. Later, last summer we met in Budapest, sat in a coffee shop, talking about Framer, templates, plans, the usual stuff… and then he finally said it. “By the way…” he pulled up his Polar feed on his phone with the latest Jet sales and said, “I’m Orin.” I honestly thought he was joking. He wasn’t. Since that day I kept asking him almost every week, “When are you going to reveal this properly?” But knowing him, I also knew this kind of story needs timing. Needs preparation. Needs to land right. So the date kept moving. End of 2025… then maybe 2026… And now the cat is finally out of the box. Insane, right? I think he’s still one of the biggest supporters of the Framer community, and his social media game is on another level. If you are in the Framer community, you know him. If you build websites or templates, you probably learned from him. We’ve seen countless tutorials, oceans of videos, tips, components everywhere. Almost everyone in the community has used at least one of his components. Smooth Scroll. Does it ring a bell? NandOrin, mate… It’s been a pleasure. Thanks for all the good stuff, the inspiration, and the continuous support. I’m genuinely happy I know you and even happier I can call you a friend.✌️ Tamas

@JosephAlexWeb @framer Thanks, Joseph! Maybe you're right — we'll soon find out, I think the hero section is crucial for a template’s success

Been pondering for a while now… who the hell is this bloke with the dodgy avatar? @orinfitzgerald shows up, drops Jet, vanishes, then returns with motion design like nothing happened. Who the fuck are you, mate? 🤷🏻‍♂️

@JJGerrishDev @framer My template Axiom is in an unpopular niche and I've tested lowering the price and it makes zero impact. So I would say its likely just the niche holding you back here.

My latest @framer template has had 0 sales so far... I always make sure to share both the ups and downs of my template business and 2 weeks after launch, it still hasn’t made a single sale. Is the $129 price too high or should I hold out? Curious to know what you'd do 🤔

@birk @tamasbodo @polar_sh Ok horrible was a bit of a strong knee-jerk reaction. I do appreciate that you guys are trying to make the checkout experience better. Thanks for the response Birk 🙏

Very sorry to hear that. Our incentives are fully aligned with yours and we want to continuously increase the baseline conversion rate. We've done a lot of them recently with great results. However, some hypothesis will inevitably be wrong, and it's crucial the trend consistently increases conversion. Great feedback in this thread that maps well to further iterations/tweaks we'll want to do, e.g x.com/birk/status/20… Re: Options. I want to avoid settings and especially in the context of iterations/testing to increase the overall baseline. In case we do identify forks in the road along the way, I'd also prefer to take a step back and identify more holistic solutions based on such learnings. Only if those do not exist or create unnecessary abstractions is when I believe options are the right solution. I hope that clarifies? Again, greatly appreciate the feedback and we take it seriously as part of these iterations & pursuit towards the best checkout conversion long-term.

What do you think about the new @polar_sh checkout UI? Important purchase details now sit behind a small info icon. Curious how others feel about this change. @birk If you’re open to sharing, I’d love to understand the design decision behind this new approach.

@birk @tamasbodo @polar_sh Ya I think that would be better than how it's currently implemented for sure. Another thing is, I don't like how you removed being able to see what benefits you get. I think you could have it in the same location as before, but just make it an expandable box aswell.

I think the description (if set) as an expandable block is the right approach. Ensuring information is shown upfront (truncated) while retaining space for above the fold price/inputs. Something we'll try. Greatly appreciate the feedback and we're constantly going to iterate & measure to continuously improve checkout – our incentives are aligned with yours, fully. PS. Refund policy: Checkout our custom fields. You could use this to even make it a required opt-in (if you'd like) in the form: polar.sh/docs/features/…

@birk @tamasbodo @polar_sh Being able to add expandable blocks for important info, managed in one place and applied across all your products, would be a great QoL update. Think 2-3 blocks max, like a refund policy section that you write once and it shows up everywhere.

Greatly appreciate the feedback throughout this thread. Checkout is #1 for us so we've been on a tear with A/B tests – shipping numerous iterations and tweaks that have had a meaningful impact. As always with tests/hypothesis, some can end up being wrong, but from a zoomed out perspective it's about ensuring it consistently goes up which it does. Feedback & ideas are always welcome to help towards increasing it even further 🙂

I noticed this earlier this month and I don’t think I’m a fan at all. I think having information on the checkout gives a lot of reassurance to potential customers, especially explaining the different licenses or listing the benefits. Not sure if it’s a coincidence but I’ve noticed sales are a lot lower this month with checkouts staying pretty consistent…

Hi! Just want to clarify a few things. All changes done to our checkout experience has been done after conducting conversion A/B testing. The latest layout drove more sales than the previous one by quite a margin. However, it is not optimal yet. We have a new checkout rolling out this week that we believe greatly increases sales conversions even further. It is in our best interest that our merchants convert more customers at checkout — hence why we're actively running A/B tests frequently to gather that data.
