At the same time, his strategy was to keep Gaza under Hamas and the West Bank under Fatah, ensuring Palestinians remained divided and could never unite politically. According to investigators, he described the method himself: confuse them, mislead them, lie to them - and then hit them.

When you take office, you swear to uphold the Constitution. As your time runs out, some look for ways around it — or try to tear it apart just to hold on to power. But there's a time for everything: a time to serve the people, and a time to hand back the power they entrusted to you. Article 64 of our Constitution doesn't just give every Congolese citizen the right to stand against any seizure or exercise of power that violates the law — it makes it a duty. I'm exercising that duty. And I stand by it. I've always said it, and I'll say it again: when you come for the Constitution, you come for the people. And the Congolese people will not stand for it.
