It is a great pleasure to be here with my @EPP_CoR friends, PM @AndrejPlenkovic & President @MSchneiderEPP to discuss a crucial topic; European investment in our towns and cities & our role in creating the best conditions for SMEs to foster.

It is with a heavy heart that I stand before you, surrounded by my @EPPGroup friends, @ManfredWeber & PM @AndrejPlenkovic as I conclude my 20 years of European adventure. We have always fought together to defend our Christian Democratic values & bring 🇪🇺 closer to the people

I am delighted to have arrived in #Zagreb & welcome, together with 🇭🇷PM @AndrejPlenkovic, so many of our member parties at the #PoliticalAssembly. The preparations with the EPP Presidency for #EPPZagreb Congress & current political developments in Europe top our agenda.

.@EPP is strongly disappointed with the results of the elections in #Belarus. None of @oscepa recommendations were taken into account. The threats posed by the Belarusian authorities towards the opposition are unacceptable. We will continue to follow the situation very closely.

Congratulations to 🇷🇴President @KlausIohannis on his resounding win in the 1st round of presidential elections. Romanians’ choice for a transparent justice, #RuleOfLaw society & pro-European course is clear. We wish another electoral victory to the President in the 2nd round.

I wish the best of luck to the candidates of @EPP member parties in #Romania. Only the centre-right can restore the #RuleOfLaw, protect the judiciary & deliver prosperity to all Romanian citizens while giving the country a strong voice in Europe.

I would also like to thank @SMuresan for his determination and commitment to #Romania and the #EU. @EPP is proud to count such a young and competent politician among its ranks and I am convinced his excellent work will continue to bear fruit for all EU citizens.

I would like to congratulate @AdinaValean on her nomination as 🇷🇴 #Romania's 🇪🇺 Commissioner-candidate. As a dedicated European, I can say with certainty that she will work with the interests of EU citizens at heart.

Today on #EqualPayDay, women earn on average 16% less than men. Written in the European Treaties 60 years ago, equal pay for equal work is still not a reality. That's why I will table measures to introduce binding paytransparency measures. We must give women and men equal rights!

.@EPP is concerned by intimidation & a criminal case against Constitutional Court Chair #Tovmasyan. The constitutional order & #RuleOfLaw in #Armenia must be guaranteed. The current 🇦🇲gov must stick to its Constitution, guarantee proper checks & balances & separation of power.

Congratulations to #Bulgaria on @EU_Commission's recommendations to lift #CVM. PM @BoykoBorissov hard work paid off & brought progress to 🇧🇬. Saddened by #Romanian socialist government’s failure to conduct reforms & comply with #RuleOfLaw, failing their citizens and country.
