Today, @Makerere University together with UEGCL, held a presentation for the L. Victoria Improved Water-Level Management through Advanced Modelling (LIVWA) Project, at Skyz Hotel, Naguru. The Project Principal Investigator, Prof. Eng. Henry Alinaitwe, highlighted the collaborative efforts between UEGCL @MakCEDAT, with funding from the Government of Uganda through the Makerere University Research and Innovation Fund (MAKRIF). The project addresses critical Lake Victoria water-level fluctuations driven by climate change and operational challenges that affect dam safety, ecosystems, and community livelihoods. The project showcases advanced lake-level forecasting models, bias-correction tools for remotely sensed data, and decision support system functions to support adaptive dam release planning. #UEGCLPartnerships #GeneratingSafelyforGenerations
