Not saying the drivers are innocent. However, no cones or any prior warning other than the obstruction itself?? The TMA itself is marked well, but reaction time is not considered in your setup. You're obstructing the road. Give people more reaction time. Reduce accidents. Save our tax dollars and let's have fewer incidents.

NEW RELEASE: What Do Mormons Believe?
Did Jesus visit the Americas after the Resurrection? In this episode of Theological, host @ShabbosK sits down with Santa Clarita stake president Michael Stanley of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to discuss the Book of Mormon’s most surprising claims—and answers the biggest misconceptions about Mormonism.

The literal resurrection of Jesus is, of course, the subject of so many scriptures that it is settled doctrine for believers of the Bible and Book of Mormon. For us, the universal resurrection is equally certain.
I wonder if we fully appreciate the enormous significance of our belief in a literal, universal resurrection. The conviction that death is not the conclusion of our identity changes the whole perspective of our mortal life.
It affects how we look on the physical challenges of mortality. It gives us the strength and perspective to endure the mortal challenges faced by each of us and by those we love.
It signifies that mortal deficiencies are only temporary! It also gives us the courage to face our own death or that of loved ones—even deaths we might call premature.
Our belief in the resurrection also encourages us to fulfill our family responsibilities in mortality. It helps us live together in love in this life in anticipation of joyful reunions and associations in the next.

But is it really Joseph Smith?
The primary debate surrounds a daguerreotype discovered in 2022 inside a locket owned by Dan Larsen, a descendant of Joseph Smith Jr.‘s family through the Community of Christ line. This image, often called the “Smith-Larsen daguerreotype,” is purported to be the only authentic photograph of Smith, taken around 1843–1844 via early daguerreotype technology. Proponents argue it matches historical descriptions, family resemblances, and forensic evidence from Smith’s death mask (molded shortly after his martyrdom in 1844). Skeptics highlight gaps in provenance (its ownership history is unclear before 1992).
One of the most credible and in-depth scientific analyses comes from anthropologist Timo Lucas in a 2022 peer-reviewed paper published in Anthropological Review. Lucas conducted a morphological comparison between the daguerreotype (actually a 1860s carte-de-visite copy of it) and the Dibble death mask, using standardized forensic anthropology methods. Two experts independently categorized facial traits on scales for shape, size, position, and presence/absence, then cross-compared to minimize bias. They also used image superimposition aligned at key points like the nasion (bridge of nose), subnasale (base of nose), stomion (mouth center), and gnathion (chin tip).
The analysis identified 16 points of anatomical similarity:
•Prominent cheekbones
•High and broad forehead with a concave frontal hairline
•Horizontal palpebral slit (eye opening shape)
•Left eye drooping laterally (possibly from ptosis or trauma)
•Medium nose width
•Inferior nostril position
•Average lip thickness, with the lower lip more prominent
•Thin upper lip
•Flat upper and lower lip shapes
•Round chin shape
•Tapering left eyebrow
•Facial asymmetry (wider right side, nose curving right)
•Potential scar in the left eyebrow area (rough patch on mask)
•Flattened left forehead
•Prominent supraorbital ridge over the right eye
•Overall alignment in superimposition with no major discrepancies
Minor differences (e.g., thinner eyebrows on the mask, less prominent philtrum) were attributed to post-mortem changes, casting artifacts, or photographic angles. Lucas concluded the similarities, especially the asymmetry linked to Smith’s documented injuries (e.g., beatings in 1832 and 1835, plus childhood leg surgery possibly causing nerve damage), increase the likelihood it’s Smith, but it’s not definitive proof without unique identifiers like a confirmed scar. Limitations include the photo’s single frontal view limiting full assessment and potential biases in overlays.
Another rigorous analysis is by independent researcher Curtis Weber, who presented his findings at the 2023 Mormon History Association conference. Initially highly skeptical—expecting to debunk it in minutes due to no known photos of Smith—Weber spent 10 months on amateur forensic work, ultimately concluding it’s authentic. His methods drew from forensic anthropology, using photo superimposition on over 700 death mask images, 1928 skull photos, 3D models, and a 1995 forensic reconstruction by artist Dee Jay Bawden (based on skull metrics and historical art). He reversed the daguerreotype (as these images are laterally flipped like mirrors) for accurate matching.
Weber found 40 high-precision correspondences in asymmetries and bone structures, such as:
•Wider right facial half
•Nose curving right
•Flattened left forehead
•Prominent right supraorbital ridge
•Drooping left mouth and nasolabial folds
•Matches to Bawden’s drawing and a 1842 profile by Sutcliffe Maudsley
•Strong resemblances to relatives like sons Frederick and Joseph III, uncle John Smith, and nephew Joseph F. Smith
He also tied it to the famous oil portrait (once owned by Emma Smith), noting 40 matches suggesting the painting was created posthumously.

"Let the Savior be your “lead” in life. He has said, “I am … the Rock of Heaven … ; whoso cometh in at the gate and climbeth up by me shall never fall.” The Redeemer will safely lead you over the most difficult obstacles of life. His laws are absolutely secure anchors of protection that dispel fear and assure success in an otherwise dangerous world. Such a life will certainly provide you peace and happiness." ~Apostle Richard G. Scott

The conversation between God and Enoch in Moses 7 has a wow factor of 10+. Probably one of the most powerful dialogs between God and man ever recorded.
And the Lord said: Blessed is he through whose seed Messiah shall come; for he saith—I am Messiah, the King of Zion, the Rock of Heaven, which is broad as eternity; whoso cometh in at the gate and climbeth up by me shall never fall; wherefore, blessed are they of whom I have spoken, for they shall come forth with songs of everlasting joy. (Moses 7:53)

@j_divis President Hinckley, 2002:
"Our whole strength rests on the validity of that vision. It either occurred or it did not occur. If it did not, then this work is a fraud. If it did, then it is the most important and wonderful work under the heavens."

Elder George P. Lee / Oct 1995:"The Lord Jesus said, “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you!” (Luke 6:26.) He warned His disciples of the danger when their names were honored and when all men spoke well of them. In a real sense, we as Latter-day Saints are also being warned. When our names are being honored in connection with all men speaking well of us, we need to renew our humility, dedication, and commitment."

Yeah, Mormons are so disgusting with their high moral character and happy family lives. Yuck!

Me when I’m talking about being a Christian and Mormons try to jump in with me:

President Nelson/Oct 2021: "Everything taught in the temple, through instruction and through the Spirit, increases our understanding of Jesus Christ. His essential ordinances bind us to Him through sacred priesthood covenants. Then, as we keep our covenants, He endows us with His healing, strengthening power. And oh, how we will need His power in the days ahead."

Temple was awesome today. Didn't want to go, and almost didn't go—but went anyway. Just sitting there, minding my own business and I got an answer to a big question I've been asking for several years. It came with clarity, warmth, invitation and peace. It was a captivating soul-felt moment.
THAT is why we need to be there. There are powers predicated to sanctifying and enlarging us just for the small sacrifice of time and walking through those doors.
Please go, and go some more.

I don’t remember, but my profile says May 2009.
(then again, i don’t remember where I last left my phone).
Back then it was an odd app called Twitter where people tweeted about what they just had for lunch.
I do remember when Elon changed its name/logo to X. It was awkward like the change from Mormon Church.

@Nanndy16 Not a true statement. We love, read and revere the Bible and the Four Gospels and THAT is the Christ we worship.
English

Either you copied that misinformation or made it up yourself. So please let me straighten that out with concrete proof.
34 Have they not said that God himself should come down among the children of men, and take upon him the form of man, and go forth in mighty power upon the face of the earth?
35 Yea, and have they not said also that he should bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, and that he, himself, should be oppressed and afflicted? Mosiah 13:34-35
And the Book of Mormon is full of the testimony of the divinity of Christ. Very powerful.
English

@Nanndy16 Mormons don’t believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. If He isn’t God, then the blood 🩸 He shed would not be divine blood, satisfying God’s righteous wrath over man’s sin, and we would still be in our sin. But He is God!
English

@Joh17_3 How can we take your word for that when you copy and paste a meme that doesn't tell the truth?
English

@IllariaDiMar Loved your post. We as members come with all manner of flaws. Some have one, others have others. As mortals, we are fallible. Keep your eye on Christ. I have to remember that all the time.
