In CA & in the US, you’re taxed on what you ALREADY earned, not what you MIGHT earn. You’re taxed on the meal you ate last night, not the meal you might eat tomorrow. Why would we gamble with our tax base and chase people out of CA with this policy? (3/4)

Let’s be clear: CA has one of the most progressive tax systems in the nation. The top 1.4% of earners pay over 50% of all California income taxes. The top .1%, about 18K people, paid 29% of all income tax. That’s $34B in a single year & it’ll be higher this year. (1/4)
