@garrytan For sure, Matt has been such a clear thinker on this issue. He was a big supporter of my Interim Housing act (which was killed the first time despite unanimous support) that has helped dramatically increase the number of interim housing units we are building in California.

Convert rundown motels into transitional housing. House people from the local neighborhood first. No-encampment zones only AFTER offering real alternatives.
Result: 911 calls drop. Blight drops. Neighborhoods stabilize.
Meanwhile the state spends $1M per unit on new affordable housing that takes years to build.
This is what happens when a politician actually cares about the outcomes for homeless people before writing policy.

California is heading into its fourth straight spring of strong water storage, with most of the state’s major reservoirs nearly full, despite one of the worst snowpacks in recorded history.
State reservoirs are at 118% of the historical average for late April.
Four consecutive years of strong storage is a remarkable streak for a state that has spent much of the 21st century going from one record-breaking drought to the next.

@Jason It’s not fraud and you know it. Sometimes suboptimal decisions are made (businesses make them all the time - Cybertruck a good ROI investment for Tesla??). I was against this at the start because I didn’t think the business plan was solid. But it’s not fraud.
