I didn't know if THE BEAR had any legs left in it and might've gone one season too long But Season 5 is fantastic and a perfect finish on a high It got all the best things from the previous 4 to make a wonderful end to a great show. HANDS.

@centralNRL If we sign Volkman long term we lose a gun junior in Lorenzo. Volkman is a backup NRL half. He's also signed a SL deal anyway.

Jarome Luai to Parramatta is a deal with clear positives and negatives for both clubs. Tigers positives: They free up around $700k in cap space to retain the Fainu brothers and strengthen the squad, can give Latu Fainu, Javon Andrews the starting first-grade experience they need. People often say 50 NRL games is where players really develop. Luai also had a genuine impact off the field through recruitment, standards and the club’s culture. Tigers negatives: They’re paying around $500k for Luai to play against them at a rival club, and what was sold as a five-year partnership lasted just two seasons. Eels positives: Luai is a genuine five-eighth, the Moses-Luai combination has already worked at Origin level, and on what is effectively a low-cost one-year deal, it also gives Lorenzo Talataina and Lincoln Fletcher another year to develop in Cup. Eels negatives: It reinforces the perception that Parramatta has become a short-term stopover after the Pezet arrangement, they will lose Ronald Volkman, and there could still be flow-on effects with players like Papalii and others. Some would also say why cant Lorenzo just play now (even though he is not ready)

Brown got the biggest deal in NRL history. Sanders & Talagi were stuck behind Moses and Brown. Talagi should have been tied down long-term

@Yarny09 @JoshCrip Agree with Yarny. It’s just another band aid. One in a series of 4 yrs of bandaids. Band aids don’t fix the cause of a problem. The correct path, IMO, was to suck it up while you build your squad. Luai is unmotivated next year and not a mentor (which Moses should be anyway)

Everyone’s making fun of the tigers but the eels look utterly ridiculous with the Luai situation as well.

@Yarny09 @Mr_Ives_ I never once said it will be great for us? We're not winning a comp with or without him. What it does is bridge a gap between he and Lorenzo. It makes us more competitive than the options we have now and gives Lorenzo someone to learn from. Not a Luai fan, but its pretty simple.

@Yarny09 @Mr_Ives_ It's not my logic, it's facts. That is what happened. We have 2 juniors who are 1-2 years off. Signing a long term deal over the top of them makes zero sense. Then the convo will be "Parra let another junior go." There is no winning here.

@Yarny09 @Mr_Ives_ Dean Hawkins left for SL.He was our back up 7. Why Pezet was signed. L.Fletcher is next up after Moses but hadn't even played Cup yet. Pezet was signed on a one year deal because signing a long term back up 7 would put a roadblock in front of him. Same as Luai and Lorenzo.
