By now, everyone has seen the videos involving the brawl in downtown Cincinnati over the weekend. At the end of the videos, a woman is clearly knocked out. Her name is Holly and I have permission to use her photo. She is badly bruised, was in the hospital for days and is in a lot of pain. Severe concussion and no broken bones. Most seem to have cleared the land for the same type of commercial development as the city, just lacking any historic or local cultural investment + wider stretches of grass\pavement between things.

Smoke meats in the BBQ smoker, kayak on the lake Friday mornings, drink bourbon watching the herons, egrets, and hawks in the backyard, go on walks in the parks, drink and eat in the cute and growing “downtown” area, have friends over, raise my kids, and once a month drive into “the city” to listen to the orchestra or visit a museum.
