@Culture_Crit I think a huge part is lack of skills. People today think “being creative” is the endgame. There is no discipline or honor to the crafts at play. Music, sculpture, painting, writing… everyone is an “idea” person with no ability to execute. (And most of the ideas also suck)

Where/Who do you want to be in the future? If you aren’t happy with ______ in your life, what are you doing to change it? In 1, 3, 5 years from now will you still be where/who you are now? How are you changing the course? Take control. Take action.

We love to cook at home and just listen to music while we do so, but there’s something about “getting out” that sparks something special. Walks in a city, theater, coffee in a cafe, or other. Just get out, no phones, and connect over deep conversation and experience

@AdrianConway_ J. Cole is next level. Tons of respect for Kendrick too, but J. Cole is (I believe) one of the most underrated ARTISTS out there.

Is the difference between a job and a hobby the audience / consumer? A hobby is for you. Purely made for your joy. A job is for someone else. This feels the most true in art/creative endeavors.

That younger person often times a listener will also have to experience it for themselves

The thing with advice is that nearly no one takes it. It’s not their fault they just don’t understand it. They can’t grasp it until they’ve been through it. When you’re young someone older than you tells you something and it’s good, sound advice but, you don’t really get it…

Then you eventually live it and understand it. Then, at some point, you will give someone younger than you advice, and you will think you have articulated it and explain it in a way that will resonate differently, but it won’t.
