THE GOSPEL IS FREE. Sharing it with someone, one on one, or a group of people must always be free. But the moment it’s packaged, into a video, an album, a concert, a book, it’ll cost money to produce. Every ‘free’ gospel resource you’ve ever enjoyed was free to you because someone else paid for it. Here’s where some get confused: We treating a concert like a crusade or church service. A crusade is a message pushed hard and wide, on purpose, to reach as many people as possible. You don’t charge for that, same reason you don’t charge admission to a political rally. But a concert is different. Culturally, a concert is entertainment. Ours happens to have the gospel woven through it. Nobody’s charging for the gospel in it, they’re charging for the experience built around it. Should every gospel concert be ticketed? Probably not. Many, if not all, can be free, but ‘free’ isn’t magic, it means somebody already covered the bill. If that somebody isn’t you, you don’t get a say in whether someone else charges. And if you’re saying ‘just trust God to provide’, then let God use you to be the provision. Christian books, movies, concerts, cloths, education, etc aren’t free by default. It happens when God instructs it, someone or an organization is blessed enough to fund it. If you’re telling someone else to trust God for funding, trust Him enough to make you the answer to that prayer. Or, simpler: support the work by buying the ticket.

Whoever said "defence wins you trophies" was right cause explain to me why an attacking team like France became powerless against Spain's defence.

@Wizarab10 Also I think France came into this game with a different mindset. Portugal played much better than what we saw from France today. Football is crazy actually.

I'm genuinely curious. Assuming you sold tickets worth N60M naira? Is the extra N10M profit? I'm asking this question because this has been the narrative since yesterday. The ticketing revenue never reaches the event expense. And your experience confirms it. I am asking for others who constantly or in cases exceeds expense in revenue. Is the excess revenue considered profit? Lastly, some months ago, we watched PFN President, Bishop Wale Oke undertake a fundraising prior to praying for the people and went through several amounts of dollars in descending order. If he was trying to raise this money to even meet a fraction of the total expense of the meeting in that way is it right, godly and biblical? I would appreciate answers from the wider community, but my questions are also an attempt to highlight how planning programmes that will cost more than the people would ordinarily be able to give willingly and cheerfully and for purpose as the Bible prescribes may put us in situations that could become unchristian or unbecoming of a minister. I'm not saying we should make our events free, though I hold that as the first principle, but I'm laying out why it is first principle in my own summation: money has the power enormous power to shape expectations, acts-done and outcomes; and for minister dealing with many other difficult-to-avoid infirmities, this burden is one that can be avoided. I'm just saying or thinking and asking without laying charges to anyone. Very open to learn on the subject.

Young & Chosen last year we spent about 50 million naira, I had support from two people; A pastor who gave me 2k dollars & someone who paid for 1 million naira worth of tickets for give away, we sold a lot of tickets and the total didn’t go over 20 million naira. Na me alone chest the rest of the bills. I’m only listing out these figures to let you know that you’re lying and bearing false witness when you accuse someone of doing something for profit where there is none and you’ll answer to God for that.

You don't know what you're saying! Pastors are sent out of the exam hall because they couldn't pay School fees in the seminary. A seminary where you're trained to preach the gospel and do the work of ministry o.
Israel Atumen@israel_atumen

@ThePChris I totally disagree Moneytising a concert is merchandizing the gospel A Christian "school" is different... A place of learning is different from an event for worshipping God The gospel pattern we see in the NT has always been by "willing donations"

To be honest, I feel like there are certain things that cannot really be taught or explained. One day, when you are led to host an event that costs millions that you don’t readily have available, yet you want to execute it without a dime from anyone, you will appreciate conversations like this more. Because really, nothing anyone can say will really change your mind because it’s all theory. I don’t see any reason why a person cannot also profit from their skill or craft after dedicating so much time, energy and excellence to it because they are ministering to God.

Receiving knowledge from an institution is different going to a concert where you are to worship God with believers and unbelievers. If Sunday service were to be a weekly concert imagine how many will stop coming to church while some will still come. I'm indifferent as regards the subject. The purpose of gospel concert is not entertainment but salvation at the end. Can you pay for salvation of a soul?

Hi guys, Following the conversations around selling tickets for gospel events, I’ve taken time to genuinely consider the perspectives that were shared with me. I realized there were angles I hadn’t given enough thought to, and I now understand the issue better than I did when I made my post. Because of that, I’ve deleted the post. I realize I was too quick to make a judgment. It wasn’t my intention to attack or condemn anyone, but I can see how my words came across that way. Looking back, I should have framed it as a question or opened a conversation instead of making a definitive statement. Regarding my book, I also hadn’t considered it from the perspective many of you pointed out. At the time, I was primarily focused on the fellowship and ministry aspect of the conversation, and I wasn’t seeing the broader picture. Hearing your thoughts helped me realize there were angles I hadn’t sufficiently considered. My post was never aimed at any particular gospel artist or minister. In fact, I wasn’t thinking about anyone’s event when I made it. I’m still learning, growing, and allowing my perspectives to be refined, and I’m grateful for the correction. I sincerely apologize to anyone who felt attacked or condemned by my words. That was never my heart. I deeply believe in the ministries of these gospel artists. We are one body in Christ, and I don’t want to contribute to unnecessary division or attacks against one another. Thank you to everyone who engaged respectfully and helped me see things from a different perspective. I appreciate it, and I’ll carry the lessons from this conversation going forward.

Nah, this ticketing topic dey vex me. The reason they manipulate tithe, offerings and seeds out of you is because you have not been trained to have a sense of duty and responsibility. You as a believer should be a willing donor. See tickets as your own avenue to support because that exactly is what it is! Everything you enjoy for free in church is being paid for by willing donors. God Instituted tithing so that there will be FOOD in the house for the ministers and for other people in need. You should have that sense of support for Christian Artists too. Ask for their account numbers, bless them randomly. You cannot be complaining about ticketing Christian events when you have not chosen to sponsor. The ONLY right attitude towards a ticketed event is to buy and give others. Not you saying they should be free. You are to make them free by buying for others. It reeks of entitlement and plain wickedness.
