@danamalt That tells me we are resigned to the fact there not getting kicked out which 95% of our fan base kind of already knew . Let’s just hope hull smash them .
@ThaRealJaySnell@simonwfoster@louis_utb@S4INTSFC It never had an impact on the performance but you’re totally missing the point, two days prior to a major semi final we where spied on, which effected plans one way or another and it shouldn’t have plain and simple.
@JoshMillward20@simonwfoster@louis_utb@S4INTSFC You didn't though, you clearly outplayed us for 90 minutes. No amount of spying had anything to do with that. Your absolutely delusional if you walked away from that game and thought it had an impact. What happened was wrong and we will be punished, but lets proportionate
If an independent commission were to expel Saints from the Play-Off Final, Middlesbrough take our place, and then Saints later win an appeal, what happens next?
You cannot realistically “un-promote” a club after the fact without creating complete chaos across the league structure, finances, player contracts, sponsorships and parachute payments.
That is exactly why the threshold for expulsion from a competition at this stage has to be extraordinarily high and legally watertight.
Sanctions must be proportionate, enforceable, and capable of surviving appeal. Otherwise the EFL risks creating a far bigger mess than the original offence itself. #saintsfc#spygate#Boro
.... diving, feigning injury, appealing for corners or throw-ins that aren’t yours, is all cheating. Even time-wasting is a form of cheating. So much is good about football - competition, community, characters - but the cheating needs tackling. Column 2/2 open.substack.com/pub/henrywinte…
The outrage about Spygate is understandable. If proven, it’s cheating. It’s seeking to gain a sporting advantage over an opponent. Let’s hope this ire is also now focused on other varieties of cheating in football, namely the amount of deceit that can stain games... 1/2
@ThaRealJaySnell@simonwfoster@louis_utb@S4INTSFC You’re missing the point here like, why SHOULD we have to change course because THEY cheated or “tried to illegally gain an advantage” Fucking idiotic if you side with them.
@ThaRealJaySnell@simonwfoster@louis_utb@S4INTSFC No I am saying spying could have and probably would have caused our coaching staff to second guess tactics 48hours prior to a semi-final. If you don’t agree you’re clueless.
@JoshMillward20@simonwfoster@louis_utb@S4INTSFC Get off it you dominated the first leg. I've seen an 0-8 loss that was less dominant. Yes it looks like we cheated but it did not effect the result whatsoever unless the spying somehow stopped you putting the goal in the net, because first leg you had a billion shots
@ThaRealJaySnell@simonwfoster@louis_utb@S4INTSFC Dominated the first leg, second best team second leg - put Hackney in that team we’d have beat you I have no doubts in my mind, for how expensive your squad, ya shite!
Southampton should get a big fine and a points deduction next season no matter what league they’re in but keep them in the playoff final, EFL are a shambles #hcafc
Just putting my 2p opinion in, if they was gunna kick Southampton out they should of done it before a ball was kicked in the playoffs Boro need to stop crying they didn’t spy for the second leg did they? Still got beat! Our club and fans are the ones getting fucked now #hcafc
@CCFCRJ@SkyBluesExtra Surely Sakamoto? Your team has the athleticism to cope I think lot of pace & power in your squad, add 5-6 quality players + depth you’ll be sound I think.
🤔 | Goodman: “If you go through that whole squad, I think if you really stretch it, you could probably find five, six, maybe seven players at an absolute push who might be able to adapt and cope with Premier League football. That leaves an awful lot of rebuilding required.” Thoughts SBA? #PUSB
@Quartista1985@Dabs06721990971 Which I know is different but I mean the player wouldn’t affect the outcome of the tie but we’d still be kicked out, the spy didn’t stop Conway scoring or their fluke going in but it broke clear rules.
@Quartista1985@Dabs06721990971 Kicking them out would be fair! Why should our prep for a major semi final but up in the air because they “tried” to cheat - gain an advantage unfairly & breaking the rules, if we signed a non league player who is shite but cup tied and played him we’d be kicked out of tbf cup
@simonwfoster@louis_utb@S4INTSFC Your little spy hampered our plans, how can you not recognise that? Hellberg and staff will have had to second guess formations/set pieces etc it will have distracted us, also there was strong rumours about Hackney playing (or not) I’d probably say that’s what William went for.
@louis_utb@S4INTSFC Get a grip! Your chance was to beat Saints over 2 legs. You just couldn’t score! Do you really think a young lad with a mobile phone in a car park made any difference?! And Kicking Saints out of a possible £200 million payout is a proportionate punishment. 🤦🏼♂️
@youareonthemenu@SouthamptonFC@SkyBetChamp If we’re in the Championship I will enjoy it, proper football clubs, class away days, no VAR and we’ll get to play you’s again, but you’ll be selling a lot of assets in the summer Jimmy lad
@youareonthemenu@SouthamptonFC@SkyBetChamp 4 x 90 minute matches and you couldn’t lay a glove on us, your bench was worth more than our team and we had the best player in the league missing, you’s are shite James, 4-Zip at the riverside as well, that worried you spied on us shithouses 🤣🤣🤣🤣
