If an independent commission were to expel Saints from the Play-Off Final, Middlesbrough take our place, and then Saints later win an appeal, what happens next? You cannot realistically “un-promote” a club after the fact without creating complete chaos across the league structure, finances, player contracts, sponsorships and parachute payments. That is exactly why the threshold for expulsion from a competition at this stage has to be extraordinarily high and legally watertight. Sanctions must be proportionate, enforceable, and capable of surviving appeal. Otherwise the EFL risks creating a far bigger mess than the original offence itself. #saintsfc #spygate #Boro
