Aguilar is seeking an extension of his eligibility to the 2026 season. After transferring in from UCLA this past offseason during the heavily covered Nico Iamaleava saga, Aguilar threw for 3,565 yards, 24 TDs, and 10 INTs in 2025. Joey Aguilar getting another year is the best thing for UT. If he's the starter great, if he gets beat in camp, great...but he rises the floor of the 2026 team SIGNIFICANTLY. Now is it the best thing for college football? Maybe not, but it is for the Vols.
