I've been getting really into shoegaze but reading the r/shoegaze subreddit does not make me want to listen to more shoegaze. people seem miserable in this genre I feel... which is kinda expected given how the music sounds lol

@GrantRous The real issue is there is only 1 true tier 1 org in the UK and they refuse to heavily associate themselves with the UK, despite having one of the strongest UK players AND personalities. How a nation with such a strong fan cultures for trad sports cant convert that is insane.

We as a nation are now seeing numerous esports events held here, numerous degree setups, numerous talks at gov level on how esports can support us, a gov backed associated (BEA) formed, student competition setups....the list goes on. We are doing 'things' in esports. Yet at it's core, our view and and culture as a nation towards gaming/esports here is still negative and it leads to us unable to produce actual esports talent. No point having all of these offices built if we don't have any employees to put in them. Our 'talk' on what we are trying to do for esports in the UK needs to start to become much more physical and tanglible in order to create a pipeline of talent in all parts of the industry. For now it's still placating from those in meaningful positions. To shift a culture, we need the non-endemics speaking on esports to actually 'believe' what they're saying. I hope something like @ENC_EN can be the wake up call we need for action, because looking below, a CS team will be hard to create...and it won't be the only game we will struggle in. The UK can become a shining light for esports but we still have a long way to go. PS. thank you @kingmezii for carrying the british flag.
