People understandably see people who hit the elderly and their spouses as subhuman animals. But when you swap the targets to even an more vulnerable group, a large percentage suddenly not only excuse hitting them, but outright support it.

Another lie from the bloodthirsty abortion zealots. Nevaeh Crain was 6 months pregnant, was happy to be pregnant, and was not seeking an abortion. She went to the hospital and was diagnosed with strep and a urinary tract infection and dismissed, despite signs of sepsis. Both she and her baby tragically died due to substandard care. An abortion was not necessary to save her. The baby-killers on the Left want you to think they care about women, but they don't. And they're happy to dishonestly exploit the death of a woman to further their agenda.

A story of covid leftism that flew under the radar is that there were local punk bands all over the US that tried to play secret shows during lockdowns, and their fellow punks were ratting them out to the authorities

Leftism is a secular religion with a very strong concept of sin and penance but no concept of forgiveness, grace or redemption. They appeal to a nebulous morality grounded on absolutely nothing, allowing it to shift at any time and leave you damned.

"Ok, so maybe you did not actually say the bad thing I pretended you said. But the not-bad thing you actually said made it very easy for me to pretend you said the bad thing, so this is still your fault." We have to stop doing this. It's poisonous to our souls.

One of the problems with Reddit stories is that they’re almost always falsified. Another problem is that they’re almost always true, but untold by the actual person who experienced them. This story, for example, is true for someone, but likely not to OP. What it is, however, is illustrative of how men and women may handle poor fathers in different ways, growing up. For a boy, their poor or imperfect father can spark three reactions; uncritical copying, a violent reaction; or resolute rejection. To reference an excellent video on the subject by The Second Story I watched earlier this week, the first is the most common reaction. The boy doesn’t understand or recognize his father’s deficiencies, so repeats them and often compounds the issue. The second, is best shown through fiction; “The Man Who Fell Out of Love With the Sea” and “Fight Club” both represent the violent rejection of failed or absent fathers. The third is shown in this post, and, represents my own father. His father, my grandfather, was a violent alcoholic and abusive. Each of his children then had their own issues but my father, despite this, has done his best and in turn, I do my best to be a better man and, one day, a better father than him. The man in this story is the same; someone who experienced a failure of a father, the failure of a man, and so sought to do better. A poor father is deeply traumatic to a son, and when my father ultimately confided his childhood traumas in me upon my grandfather’s death, I understood why he had been the way he was when I was a child and, why he’d calmed down as my brother and I grew older. But what of women? When women grow up in a household with abusive, neglectful or absent fathers, that becomes their reference point for how men “ought” to be. It’s normal to them that the man should yell, be violent or just be absent. Look at the travesty of single-parent households now; most feature girls who themselves had abusive or absent fathers or, worse yet, the coddling “girldad” who acts out of barely contained lust for his child. This story is true, whilst being False. It plays out a thousand times a day, every day, and is a deep generational wound that each successive generation of fathers must work to heal. It resonates because, for so many men, it touches their deep fears that their attempts at perfection, their attempts to be good men, good fathers, will themselves become the flaw that destroys their future. Take it, and stories like it, as parables. Even when someone from a broken home finds the perfection they were searching for, they may well destroy it. That each and every one of us may end up as the sailor who fell out of love with the sea.

Being anti leftist alone or even primarily is not the job of libertarians. Our job is to be against both and be consistent. If you want to be anti leftist or anti rightist you should just join one party or the other. If you want to get rid of the system altogether let's talk

The discourse switching seamlessly from "stop eating lunch if you want to afford a home" to "abolish my property taxes because I can't afford it and refuse to change my lifestyle at all" has been interesting to witness.

Boomers are really being like "You need to cut taxes just for my generation because my $700k house's property taxes are too expensive to afford on social security and the pension I got from my factory job" But I am supposed to eat pb&j for the rest of my life if I want a house.

Did you know that your city/town almost certainly operates on a council-manager model? If you want to know who the worst corrupted monster in your city government is just look at the office of city manager. Garunteed they've cut at least one deal with a chief of police or city attorney to smooth something over.
