There's no good civic argument for the electoral college. It was arguably necessary to ensure the ratification of the Constitution, but it's an anti-democratic device that gives some American citizens far more voting power than others, based purely on where they live.

The federal income tax is so progressive that even people making $100K-$200K have a smaller share of the income tax burden than their share of income.
The ~100 million tax filers who make under $75K pay just 8% of all income taxes.
The 30,382 filers who made over $10M paid 11%.

One of the great political moves by the left in recent years has been convincing a large portion of America that "the rich" don’t pay taxes and it’s all poor people, when the exact opposite is true.
The Top 1% pay 46% of all income taxes.
The Top 10% pay 76% of all income taxes.

This is an extremely serious national security concern, given that he sits on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Did he share classified information with any foreigners during his drunken escapades overseas?
