Dear men, It impresses upon my soul to write to you. This writing is inspired by my consumption of a lot of Diogenes' work but one quote of his that massively influenced my value system, reads: "It is the privilege of the gods to want nothing, and of godlike men to want little". It imprinted upon my soul for a long time, especially as someone that's ambitious. Friends, verily I say unto you: Ambition is good but nothing is more frustrating to a man that for him to exist at the edge of a precipice where there are more factors out of his control, than within his control. Endless chase in ambition without a defined scope is outside your control & with every season you have a new high to chase without a moment to enjoy where you are. It becomes easy to discard your present as a valley as you glare at a new high, forgetting that your current valley used to be a mountaintop you aspired to. I guess the point I'm trying to make is, have a number in mind. Especially as an ambitious person, have a number in mind. The endless pursuit of ambition will leave you with a hollow soul. It will strip you of the beauty of momentary happiness, satisfaction of wins & incredible undervaluation of how far you've come. As a young hustling man, it is important that you define what happiness and success looks like for you, and to do so early on. The ultimate question now becomes: Are you in control of your dreams? Or are your dreams in control of you? The answer to this question is a predictor of your future happiness or lack thereof. I hope my writing found you well. As you were.

This Hong Kong entrepreneur says school doesn’t matter! I interviewed a nine-figure entrepreneur in Hong Kong, and I asked him: What he did differently from his competition, and whether book smarts or street smarts is more important in business.

If I had to start my study abroad journey all over again, I'd do these 10 things first. Not because they're easy. Because they'll save you months of confusion and costly mistakes. A thread 🧵👇👇

I bookmarked this to respond later. Here you go. I remember how I felt when I made my first 5K naira salary - it was the same feeling I had when I made my first 7 figure. One of the first concepts I mastered was the art of "Joy Regardless". I couldn't wait until everything makes sense, before I decided to be happy. That mindset have remained consistent throughout my journey. And about your question? If I could have imagined my current reality then? Guy yes. I always told my friends: "My chances of making it are higher than my chances of finding love" I believe in myself die - and I don't allow the variable of brilliance delude me from the necessity of consistently deepening capacity. Post NYSC, when I was struggling in the dirt of dirts. 20K teaching job with 3 tutorial hustles. I would come back every evening, wear my nicest shirt and walk into a car shop - pockets empty. "I like the rims on this one, do you have the color in black?" "Hmmm. The price isn't bad. Can I see the BMW equivalent?" I'd do this from car shop to car shop. Not because I wanted to waste their time, swimming in delusion or had nothing better to do with my time but I understood the power of visualization. Sportsmen use it all the time. You see bah, you stay long in a particular situation - your system starts to normalize it. You start to figure out how to "manage". " 20K salary abi. Well, if I see like 50K own. I'll just try and walk 2km instead of entering bus" This is worse than comfort zone because there's no iota of comfort and you're slowly conditioning yourself to optimize it as your new normal. I found ways to constantly put fire in mybosom. To make your dreams nightmares, and your living daylight daydreams. Visualization helps you to see what is possible. It doesn't have to be with cars, but it has to be with variables incredibly beyond your reach at the moment. You'll never be big. You'll never grow. You'll never breakforth - if your mind hasn't first conceived the possibility of that future. Don't let your mind condition what's supposed to be a bus stop for you, become a final destination.

@UnkleAyo The physical transformation is massive. I wonder the differences in your mind, thought patterns and knowledge across both timeliness. In the amalw picture could you imagine your current reality?

Don’t you think there’s a problem with this? Don’t you think there’s a problem where individuals like this are given more relevance than students making waves in the academia? No wonder, we have more ret@red youths in our society 🤦‍♂️

It’s funny how some people especially artistes try to clown Peller, Carterefe and others. They act like these guys are irrelevant & dumb meanwhile they’re the same people y’all run to for promotion. If they’re worthless, you won’t be paying them millions to use their platforms 😂

Many graduates leave school believing they are qualified because they passed examinations, while employers reject them because they cannot perform in real-world environments. Employers complain daily about graduates who cannot think critically, solve problems, communicate effectively or demonstrate basic discipline. Schools are factories where the workforce is manufactured. Industry is where that workforce is consumed. Perhaps the biggest problem in education is that the factories rarely hear directly from the people consuming their products. Yet I've never seen a major forum where CEOs, HR leaders, university Vice Chancellors, secondary school principals and Ministries of Education sit together to discuss one uncomfortable question: "What exactly is wrong with the graduates we are producing?" Imagine a conference where industry leaders openly present the frustrations they face in recruitment and educators are forced to listen. In manufacturing, if a factory keeps producing defective products, customers complain and the factory adjusts its process. But in education, the "customers" (industry) complain continuously while the "factories" (schools and universities) rarely receive structured feedback from those consuming their output. This is one reason skill gaps persist year after year. In fact, Nigeria and much of Africa may need an annual Education-Industry Alignment Summit, where employers openly grade the quality of graduates and schools respond with concrete reforms. HR professionals and CEOs should be able to tell schools the skills they wish could be taught to support modern changing workplace. This could become one of the most important education initiatives on the continent. What do you think?
