I'm not in favor of a wealth tax...but most Americans already pay a wealth tax. Home ownership is most Americans biggest source of wealth and it is taxed every year. Importantly, it's taxed on its value, regardless of how much you own...so when you only have it 20% paid off, it is effectively a 15-20% wealth tax. It is immoral.
