@mcsquared34 Nazis only killed Jews because Moses gave them the Torah. You don’t get to choose the people who kill you.

Do people understand how insane this is? The Israelis are invading a sovereign country, making hundreds of thousands of people homeless, destroying their homes and neighborhoods, and saying they cannot return until Israelis feel safe. What about Lebanese safety and the right to live on their land without a psychotic aggressor turning everything into an apocalyptic moonscape?
Will Christou@will_christou

Israeli defence minister Israel Katz says today that the residents of southern Lebanon "will not return to their homes south of the Litani until the safety of the residents of the north [Israel] is guaranteed," as he announces ground operations in south Lebanon.

It was a deep honour to meet President Biden in Philadelphia. We thanked him sincerely for his efforts toward the release of the hostages and for his steadfast support of the State of Israel. We are grateful for this meaningful opportunity.

@AnaKasparian ISRAEL, Ana. The answer to Bill's question, "what country in the ME could you wear that dress?" is ISRAEL. ISRAEL is the ONLY country where you could wear that dress.

Unpopular opinion: iPad is the most useless device in apple’s lineup. It’s a cool device but for 9/10 people; it has no regular use, especially as iPhones get bigger screens. I’ve had every generation iPad and they always end up collecting dust. The exception is if you’re an artist or absolutely need a larger screen and for some reason, a MacBook doesn’t work for you. Please, by all means, prove me wrong. What do you use your iPad for on a regular basis? What are must have apps that aren’t on iPhone and appeal to the regular person, not an artist? I really want to love my iPad but from day one, it was always unclear to me who it’s targeting and why anyone would need it. For me, for casual use, iPhone does the trick and if I absolutely need a larger screen, I use a MacBook. Why am I wrong?

This is not the product of an independent mind. This reads like a show-trial. A coerced confession. A public recantation of sins and misdeeds — in the vain hope that all will be forgiven and he will be taken back into the fold. Peter Beinart fed the crocodile, hoping that it would eat him last. Well it looks like he just got eaten.

By speaking earlier this week at Tel Aviv University, I made a serious mistake. In the past, when formulating my views about Israel-Palestine, I’ve sought out Palestinian friends and interlocutors and listened carefully to their views. In this case, I did not. I really wanted to speak to Israelis. In the US, I’ve cultivated conversations with Jews with whom I strongly disagree, both to listen and in hopes of changing their minds. Over the horrifying last two years, I’ve hoped for more conversations with Israelis, to explain why I believe Israel has committed genocide in Gaza and why I believe Jewish supremacy is fundamentally wrong. My motivation for giving the talk wasn’t financial; I didn’t receive an honorarium. I wanted to say certain things to an Israeli audience. Speaking at Tel Aviv University seemed to offer that chance. I let my desire for that conversation override my solidarity with Palestinians, who in the face of ethnic cleansing, apartheid and genocide have asked the world boycott Israeli institutions that are complicit in their oppression. As Noura Erakat and others have pointed out, there are ways for me to talk to Israelis without violating BDS guidelines and undermining a collective effort against oppression. I could have had the exchange I desired while respecting a non-violent movement based on human rights and international law. Had I listened more to Palestinians, I would have realized that earlier. It’s embarrassing to admit such a serious mistake. I dearly wish I had not made this one, which has caused particular harm because international pressure is crucial to ensuring Palestinian freedom. This was a failure of judgment. I am sorry.

@acoley821 We want to beat healthy opponents. No glory in winning against injured teams. And in the end, come on, we all feel their physical pain. Now when they're crying on the side line cause we beat their ass, that makes me happy.

Good to see on my timeline some legit defenders of the cause distancing themselves from those lunatics that tried also today to block La Vuelta and take down the cyclists, calling them what they are: total nutjobs. Common sense. 👍 #LaVuelta25

@KaitMarieox It’s sad. A persons life shouldn’t be destroyed based on the stupidest thing they’ve ever done. No one is learning generosity from this.

It’s been about a month since coming home from Israel. I’ve been to most of Europe and plenty of Latin America. Israel is the most special place I’ve ever visited, and it’s not even close. Once you go there, part of your heart lives there forever and you just wanna return.

It must be terrifying being Palestinian in Gaza now. American Jews face nothing compared to that and should denounce the genocide being perpetrated by our people and stop weaponizing our own trauma to legitimize the horrors we inflict on others.
Jake Sherman@JakeSherman

It is scary being an American Jew right now. We go to synagogues that are fortified with armed guards and police. Kids go to schools that have layers of security. Campuses and cities are filled with antisemitism. This isn't the world I grew up in. It's disgusting and disheartening. And I don't know how it will end.
