@souljagoyteller It seems like Iran has broadcast what it wants very clearly: inflict enough economic damage so that this can never happen again. If they just sue for peace now, Israel and the US can just mow the grass whenever they want and the regime knows its finished. @AliVaez called this.

I think Iran’s reticence to negotiate an end to the war is more likely due to the fact that the US hasn’t kept by its negotiations with the country for the last decade

I don’t understand what the US goal is. Are we pursuing discrete military objectives which will be complete in 2-3 weeks or are we bombing Iran until they negotiate a deal that includes extremely ambitious (possibly unrealistic goals)? These two approaches are not coherent.

Once again, this is completely insane, but we have apparently decided that centuries-old norms were fake and that complaining about violating them was gay. This theory comes from the same people who explained at the beginning of the war that it would be a simple one and done kind of thing, on the ground that foreign policy was actually easy and the only problem was that before Trump people didn't understand that you could just murder the leadership of your enemy and their replacement would just do whatever you tell them.

quite clearly, there is no plan, this speech was hollow on addressing real challenges with the Strait, leaving it to others, and there is no reason to expect the Strait will reopen anytime soon. no plan- no concern- this will likely start to push oil prices back up.
