What a chaotic day, was on a tornadic supercell here in Oklahoma while on the phone with my family members back home in Kankakee as a significant tornado was impacting the area close to them. They’re all okay but multiple family members probably have totaled out cars from the hail, grandma sustained house damage and broken house windows as well #wxtwitter

Simply stated, there are too many people who see chasing on social media, think “I bet I could do it!” and then freeze up the second it becomes scary. And believe me, it can get scary FAST. Anyone CAN chase. But not everyone should. Most should NOT.

A bill making its way through committee would allow study of various ways including essentially weaponized EMP and anti-drone towers to knock out and keep drones out of the sky on wildfires. Thoughts? #wxtwitter

Documented 3 separate fires near Woodward, Oklahoma yesterday then went up near Englewood, Kansas to document some flank line action. Soon after a brush and tanker showed up and tandem attacked the line, was effective as they knocked the flank down significantly. Fire conditions rise again today but won’t be as significant as yesterday (wind wise) but fire conditions are spreading more East today than yesterday. #oklahoma #okwx #wxtwitter

As expected, as today heated up so did our fire conditions including a grass fire that broke out near Shawnee, OK which sparked evacuations but with quick response, they were able to get the fire contained in quick manner, though I do think some structures were lost. Oklahoma Forestry Services was on scene cutting dozer line then quickly moved to the Lakewood fire in Mcloud and put dozer line in there and now the fire is contained as well. These were only a couple of the numerous fires that occurred today across the state Forestry and several fire depts across the state put in work today, great job guys. #Oklahoma #okwx #wildfire #firefighter #shawnee #forestry
