Life in Vietnam and algotrading. Youtube: Prawdziwy Wietnam 🇻🇳

I just finished a meeting with our software development team. We talked about Friday's flash crash. One colleague's reaction was great: I didn't think it was that bad... Meanwhile, I'm getting more and more messages from various capital allocators about funds that have been totally wiped out. Wiped out trading shops. Or companies that have suffered 60%+ drawdowns. The reason why my colleague didn't even notice the increased volatility is our portfolio approach. We always have many long/short pending orders in the market, which reduce net exposure in such cases. This time, we made some money. Other times, we may lose a little. Individual cases are random events. The important thing is to always be very far from the point of liquidation at all costs and to be well diversified.
