As a Congolese woman deeply committed to peace, unity, and the stability of my country, the Democratic Republic of Congo, I speak with both concern and responsibility. The Constitution of a nation must never be treated as a tool of convenience. It is the foundation of sovereignty, stability, and democratic integrity. Any attempt to modify it for short-term interests, political arrangements, or external agreements raises serious concerns for the future of our nation. In particular, no mining deal or economic agreement should grant any leader the right or justification to alter the Constitution. Our natural resources must never become a reason to weaken our democratic foundations. President @realDonaldTrump , I respectfully emphasize that while strategic cooperation between the United States and the Democratic Republic of Congo, especially in critical minerals, is important, such partnerships must remain fully aligned with our Constitution and national sovereignty. The next President of the Democratic Republic of Congo will ensure continuity in critical mining cooperation between the United States and the DRC, but always within the strict respect of our laws, our institutions, and the will of our people. The Congolese people aspire to peace, dignity, and self-determination. No partnership, regardless of its importance, should come at the expense of our constitutional order or national unity.
