@TheGhostOfHope I think them being the biggest game in the world helps sell consoles. 10’s of millions still playing on PS4/Xbox One who will be forced to get a current gen console which helps the gaming industry.

Slimiest thing Rockstar is known for imo. They absolutely 100% purposefully double dip with their games when it comes to the PC port releasing later.

But I just don’t trust Microsoft. If console gets down into the 10-20 million for a generation I see them cutting the hardware. Game Pass already makes more than their store front

Some people need their feelings and ego catered to in order to feel good about playing great games on an Xbox device or in the Xbox ecosystem.
Xbox can tend to my feelings with good games and by not screwing up Xbox Game Pass. I don't care about where you put the games.

This is the part people keep missing.
Sony doesn't need every game to sell 20M copies at $70 to make the math work. There is multiple ways to offset costs as a platform owner;
*DLC and expansions
*PS+ and catalog value
*Long-tail sales over years
*Off-shoring of resources
*Re-using assets and existing engines
*A.I. assisted dev and automated QA
*Longer gap in between major releases
So it's not just one shot or bust (pause).

Sony are in a tricky spot because they are essentially stuck between a rock and a hard place. They have conditioned their audience to expect highly graphical cinematic games yet that isn't really sustainable with the cost of development as it is (and only rising) Astro Bot is my favorite Sony game of all time and I personally would prefer they pulled back on the scale a bit on their games but sales show that isn't what the PS audience wants. The cost of game development essentially doubles every generation so I have no idea how Sony is going to manage these massive budgets in the PS6 generation. Given the size of Naughty Dog now, salaries in LA being so high, the amount of time it's been in development, plus overheads and marketing I could easily see Intergalactic costing over $400 million.

I agree with them actually. If they were not going to change anything with exclusives then why say anything about reevaluations at all? Just keep the status quo.

2021 was a good year with Halo, FH5, MSFS and AOE4.
2022 was very negative year with only Grounded and Pentiment
2023 was Redfall(flop) and Starfield(underwhelming for Bethesda)
2024 was the start of multi plat and timed games

Xbox offered multiple console exclusives over the past few years, but all people wanted to do was claim Xbox was dead. Now they are very active and have almost no exclusives and people are, but where's the exclusives.🤦

Genuinely, what would be the point in remaking H2 and 3 without the multiplayer? These games built the foundation of online console gaming. If they’re getting the same 'Campaign Evolved' treatment where we only get a quarter of the experience, I’d rather they just leave it alone.

We either need to just be happy with Game Pass Day 1 or ask for exclusives and be ready to buy these games on Xbox instead of Game Pass

@PigeonGoGaming I played it as Jacob(best character for a single player run imo) after its final update. The first half of the game was a fun and atmospheric 8/10 and then the second half you could see they ran out of time and it could’ve been a solid Borderlands style game if given more time.

To give it up for PlayStation is wild to me. That have to know they have a shot. I’d literally tell PlayStation to Fuck off . It’s the energy alone that would have xbox as the cool thing or at least maybe a chance. Otherwise they are dead. What dangerous is when you have nothing to lose. Quite frankly I feel they don’t at this point after those financials. Multi platform approach down 7% overall is wild that means your games on PlayStation sunk you and killed your HW

@NewfNukem It won’t happen while Game Pass is offering all their games Day 1. It basically killed anyone buying all first party games so all that’s left is to put big 3rd party games on the shelf and with the playerbase getting smaller those sell less. Also 90% digital playerbase

One of the biggest changes I'd like to see with Xbox is way more representation at the retail level. I don't expect Xbox 360 or Xbox One levels of games but there needs to be more than one small shelf in my local GameStop/EB Games.
