@Super70sSports When I was 23, I asked Mom,”I’ve seen this movie 100 times. Why am I tearing up? I’ve never cried at this. What’s wrong with me?” She replied, “You’re growing up. You’re supposed to cry at this part.” Danged Jimmy Stewart has got me every single time, since!

Hollander POTD Moses Malone. HS-to-pro C peaked w/HOU+ PHI from 77-83. Unstoppable rebounding force. Had 17.6 rpg in 78-79 (!) + won 3 MVPs. Had 12 straight all-star appearances too. Career spanned 74 w/ABA UTA to 95 w/SA. Gave KAJ fits in early 80s. HOFer died 2015. RIP.

@HoopsAnalyst NJ should have kept him, not drafted Kenny Anderson, and took Mutombo instead. Mookie-Mutombo-Drazen-Coleman... that would have been a core to build around.

Hollander POTD Mookie Blaylock. OK PG was drafted 12th by NJ in 89. Had bad FG% as rookie but developed into good player after. Traded to ATL in 92 where he became all-star. 6x all-defense, 2x steal champ, 1x all-star. Traded to GS in 99 & declined a bit before retiring in 02.

@HoopsAnalyst I remember rumors that he was going to get traded for Dr. J. I'm glad that one didn't go through.

Hollander POTD Terry Cummings. DePaul F was drafted 2nd by SD in 82 & won ROY. Traded in 84 to MIL, due to heart issue. Stayed healthy & was great in MIL for 5 yrs (2x All-NBA). Slowed down in 90s & was role for SA, MIL (again) SEA, PHI, NY +GS til 00. Close to HOF guy.

You are right. Hard to believe the guy who put up 20.5 ppg, 21.1 rpg, 4.5 apg and shot 58.3% fg doesn't get a single vote while a teammate does. Or that Russell gets that many when they finished 4th in the standings. But yeah, Wilt did gripe a lot in his book. Probably thinking he should be the only guy to get the MVP his rookie season. I agree that Unseld didn't deserve it that year.

@Brosky2413 @ohnohedidnt24 Bad enough they try to skew the numbers when Wilt wasn't even allowed to join the NBA until he was 22 (playing for the Globetrotters the year before), but then hey outright lie about the numbers to make these inferior players when Wilt has almost DOUBLE of the other 4 combined.

@HoopsAnalyst Why did Don Nelson waste his time trading Mitch Richmond to Sacramento for Billy Owens? They should have traded for the draft slot and taken Mutombo. That would have given him the center he never had.

Hollander POTD Larry Johnson. LJ was a force at UNLV. Drafted 1st by CHA in 91. Won ROY + had famous Grandmama ads. Hurt back + was below rim guy after 94. Still skilled & effective. Traded to NY in 96, was beloved for effort & the 4-point play v IND. Retired in 01.

@HoopsAnalyst Wow! First time I found an error in Hollander: LJ did not make the NCAA finals his senior year. They lost to Duke in the semifinals, and Duke played KU in the finals. Remember Grant Hill’s awesome alley oop dunk in the finals?

@DBGyt_ It's the other way around, obviously. Players today are far less skilled, they have no effort or heart, have low bball IQ, are shorter and weaker

A .500 NBA team from 2026 would beat most NBA teams from 1996 by 30+ points... And I'm being generous by saying 30... No, you can't put in a player from 1996 with the exact knowledge/skillset they had at the time and argue they would average 50...

They did that during Covid. After our clown governor tried to flex her authoritian muscle, the legislature passed a bill saying if government (including county) tried to mandate store closings over Covid, they had to reimburse the store for lost business. And there is such a supermajority, they overturned her veto. That put a quick end to that noise.

🚨 KANSAS IS NOT PLAYING. The "Sunflower State" has officially joined the medical freedom revolution with one of the strongest bills in the country! 🌻 The newly introduced Kansas Medical Freedom Act doesn't just "encourage" choice, it enforces it. Under this landmark legislation, any employer or entity that violates an individual's right to refuse a medical intervention could face staggering fines of $50,000 per violation!!! This is what real accountability looks like. Kansas is sending a clear message to the establishment: If you try to coerce us, it’s going to cost you. The "Idaho Blueprint" is evolving, and the penalties for medical tyranny are rising. We believe your body is your property, and no one should have to pay a price to keep it that way, unless it's the ghouls trying to take it from you. Congrats #KANSAS! #MedicalFreedom #Kansas #EndTheMandates #VSRF #bodilyautonomy #MAHA #HealthSovereignty #50KFines

@paulieknep Back in the day, I looked up data on Stepped-On and every time he switched teams, the team that got rid of him improved the next year and the team that acquired him did worse than the previous year. I don’t think that was a coincidence.

@JuddVance @sam_amick @TheAthletic I never said he broke “the record” I said he broke Kobe’s record. Do you not know how English works? Do you not realize that Kobe’s record was 81 points? Have you never set a PR? Do you not know that a “record” doesn’t always refer to “the most ever by anyone”?

@JuddVance @sam_amick @TheAthletic Again with the mansplaining. Why do you assume I know nothing about Wilt, or MJ, or Bill, or Clyde, or Magic, or Larry, or Kareem…or any other player prior to 2002? Or, better yet, how records work? I’ve been watching sports longer than you’ve been alive.

Hollander POTD Cliff Robinson. USC F was drafted was drafted 11th in 1979 by NJ. Good athlete averaged double double 2 seasons and 18+ ppg 5x. Bounced around a lot but always consistent thru retirement in 1992. Sorta forgotten due to emergence of Uncle Cliffy.
