In the face of Ankara’s escalating aggression, Israel is deepening one of the most important strategic alliances in the Eastern Mediterranean with Greece and Cyprus. 🇮🇱🇬🇷🇨🇾 Erdogan’s Turkey has occupied northern Cyprus since 1974, has threatened Greece with war for decades should it extend its territorial waters, and seeks to impose a new maritime order through its “Blue Homeland” doctrine at the expense of Greece, Cyprus, and regional stability. In Syria, Ankara is the principal external patron of the Islamist terror regime in Damascus. At its head stands Ahmad al Sharaa, a former Al Qaeda operative sent to Syria by Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, the founder of ISIS, for those who may have forgotten. This regime bears full responsibility for the mass killings and sectarian violence against Alawites and Druze, which many survivors and observers describe as ethnic cleansing, as well as for violent campaigns against the Kurds. Turkey provides it with political, military, and economic backing. At the same time, Hamas headquarters operating freely from Turkish soil directing terror activity in Israel and Europe, recruiting operatives, transferring funds and weapons, and coordinating attacks under the protection of Erdogan’s regime. It must be said plainly: Erdogan’s ingratitude is beyond comprehension. In Turkey’s darkest hours, Israel was there. During the 1999 earthquake and again after the devastating earthquake of 2023, Israel sent rescue teams, doctors, field hospitals, equipment, and humanitarian aid. Israel saved Turkish lives beneath the rubble. Erdogan chose to repay this by turning Turkey into a global stronghold of Islamist, Hamas aligned antisemitism. The alliance with Greece and Cyprus, together with our deepening cooperation in energy, security, and defense industries, is a vital strategic pillar against the imperialist Islamist terror policy of the regime in Ankara.
