Yesterday was a watershed for me. I’m so grateful for the experience of being a judge on two courts, but it’s about time for me to let someone else have the privilege of serving. I’ll leave in a couple of months with a heart filled with gratitude and so many happy memories. 😊

In your charity, please pray for my mom. She’s been in and out of the hospital lately and is now in hospice care. I am not sure how much longer she’ll be with us, but I am going to treasure the time I have left with her.

@CPY87 Our dog is the same age, and we were just talking about this! She turns 17 in January.

Here’s our beloved old golden doodle, Kodi, celebrating his 16 and 3/4 years of life with two pup cups. It’s amazing that he’s still around, but we’re counting on him making it to his 17th birthday, when we’ll have a huge party for him and he’ll get to eat everything he wants. 🎂

Sometimes the best professional growth happens when we step outside the courtroom and connect with colleagues—especially with a view like this.

Just found out I have to appear for jury duty tomorrow, so I’ll be trying to complete the trifecta in July: issuing a published decision for the Court of Appeals; presiding over a bench trial for the Court of Claims; and rendering a jury verdict for the District Court. #JudgeLife

The passage of time is humbling. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary tonight. We don’t feel like we’ve aged much, but the pictures tell a different story. Still, it has been a wonderful life so far.
