@Jenn_the_Judge @_proplaygames They never post pay rates. They pay the same for all judge roles except HJ and appeals. They state the hours you will work in the acceptance letter and change the hours to be 4-6 hours longer at the event. They never send you a copy of anything you sign. Avoid at all costs.

How much are you paying Judges!? Apps are up without pay rates listed! I plan on applying if the pay is reasonable.

All this to say, it’s a fine line. Read the documents, talk to your local judges, learn about the history of the rules and the philosophy of its usage. You might gain a better understanding of the rules and how they are implemented.

It’s never easy, it tends to be contentious, and it takes a lot of communication between players, judges, and sometimes spectators to figure out how to fix the situation, if it even needs to be fixed in the first place.

A thing people don’t grasp when resolving spells and triggers is culture, intent, and patterns of behavior. Stating “ok” for many players in the USA is a sign of resolving a spell. However, it doesn’t mean the same thing in many other cultures.

Let me predict how this plays out like the futurist I am. There will be a big gunfight. There will be infiltrators from the CIA/Mossad who will kill multiple National Guard. They will pose as gangbangers. This will be used as justification for Martial Law and disarmament.

You’d think I’d feel more upset about this but christ has JF thoroughly and completed killed my passion for judging.

@RyanFreeburger Left at the end of last year and won’t be looking back. I still judge with a few shops and work events that make financial sense, but I won’t support JF anymore with my time, money, or energy.
