Eureka TEKS Edition spirals and layers the TEKS. Kinder students understand all of the ways to make ten and 1st graders understand how to make and decompose numbers to 10. “Students' mental math ability is ridiculously high.” ~quoted from a 1st grade teacher. @BuffeyMiller

When students explore new words through movement, they understand them better, retain them longer, and feel more empowered to use them. That's why this teacher incorporates music and movement into her lessons daily. 🎶 🌟 #MakingLearningMorePlayful with @LEGOfoundation

🙌 Beginning texts need enough repetition & exposure to most frequent & straightforward spelling patterns. “Once that hurdle is overcome, it makes no sense to teach Ss as if they were 5... From gr 2 on, kids can learn plenty when taught w more challenging texts.” @ReadingShanahan

RLA teachers were taught to meet kids where they are using leveled texts. This strategy has kept many students from access to grade level content in Tier 1 instruction. All students accessing grade level content using grade level text can be a mind shift. lwtears.com/blog/teaching-…

I learned new vocabulary - Gish Gallop. Look it up. It explains so much about our political environment.
