Russia launched more than 2,000 attack drones, 1,200 guided aerial bombs, and 116 missiles of various types at our cities and villages in just this past week. Almost every day, they strike energy facilities, logistics infrastructure, and residential buildings. And this is happening even as diplomatic efforts for peace are ongoing. The world must not turn a blind eye to Russian attacks. When there is no global response, the strikes become more frequent and increasingly brutal. This can be stopped through real support for Ukraine and our defense. We need missiles for air defense systems and weapons for our warriors, who hold back this aggression every single day. And for diplomacy to work, constant pressure on Russia is essential. The price of this war for them must be so high that the war becomes untenable for the Russian Federation. ⛷️ The Winter Olympic Games began in Italy! We cheer for our national team and wish Italy every success in hosting these Games. 🇺🇦 The honour of carrying the Ukrainian flag at the opening ceremony went to skeleton athlete Vladyslav Heraskevych and short track debutant Yelyzaveta Sydorko, whose father is currently defending Ukraine against Russia's aggression. This year, Ukraine is represented by 46 athletes across 11 winter sports: biathlon, alpine skiing, Nordic combined, cross-country skiing, luge, skeleton, snowboarding, ski jumping, freestyle skiing, figure skating, and short track speed skating. Ukrainian athletes have prepared for these games under the harsh conditions of Russia’s full-scale war, including strikes on our energy system. Since the start of Russia’s war, more than 650 Ukrainian athletes and coaches have been killed, and hundreds of sports facilities have been damaged or destroyed. We thank the Ukrainian team for their extraordinary resilience and determination, which made this Olympic journey possible ⭐️ #SportsDiplomacy

Last night, the Russians struck facilities critical to the operation of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants. Today, units at Ukraine’s NPPs reduced power generation, and one unit was automatically shut down. This is a level of attack that no terrorist in the world has ever dared, and Russia must feel the world's response. Russia must show that not only such strikes and the war matter to it, but also the ongoing negotiations that are supposed to deliver results.

The temperature in Ukraine is below -20°C (-4°F). Overnight, Russia attacked with 450 drones and over 60 missiles, including ballistic ones. Primary targets: energy and residential houses in Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, and other regions. Putin waited for the temperatures to drop and stockpiled drones and missiles to continue his genocidal attacks against the Ukrainian people. Neither anticipated diplomatic efforts in Abu Dhabi this week nor his promises to the United States kept him from continuing terror against ordinary people in the harshest winter. We are dealing with terrorists who must be forced to stop violence. The world has the tools. Strengthen Ukraine’s air defense and energy resilience. Increase pressure on Moscow. Deprive the Russian war machine of energy revenues and access to technology. Isolate the Russian regime. Stop and confiscate Russia’s illegal oil tankers. Putin must be deprived of illusions that he can achieve anything by his bombing, terror, and aggression.

Overnight, Russia carried out a massive attack on our regions, launching over 370 attack drones and 21 missiles of various types. Kyiv and the region, as well as the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions, were targeted. In Kharkiv, a maternity hospital, a dormitory housing displaced persons, a medical college, and residential buildings have been damaged. As of now, dozens of people have been reported injured, including a child. In the capital and the surrounding region, the Russians' main targets were energy facilities. Tragically, this attack has claimed the life of one person. My condolences to their family and loved ones. All necessary services are now working at the sites of the Russian strikes, eliminating all consequences: rescuers, medical teams, municipal services, energy workers, and repair crews. I thank every person involved. I am also grateful to all the air defense personnel who repelled the attack. Every such Russian strike on our energy infrastructure proves that there must be no delays in supplying air defenses. No blind eye can be turned to these strikes; they must be met with a strong response. We are counting on the reaction and assistance of all our partners. Every missile for Patriot, NASAMS, and all other systems helps protect critical infrastructure and enables people to endure the winter cold. We must ensure full implementation of everything agreed with President Trump in Davos regarding air defense. I thank all those who help protect lives.

That would be the equivalent of 700,000 British or French or German children…or of 3,5 million American children killed or maimed.   That would be the equivalent of 150,000 Israeli children killed or maimed. What would happen within these walls or outside of these walls, if it was Israeli children.
