@scraphamster @mrjamesmayhew I used to run the MA in Children's Literature at Goldsmiths College. We used Rosie's walk as an example of an early postmodern text. If you read the words they provide a "counterpoint" to the illustrations. If you want to find out more about the theory, look up our MA!

Year 2 enjoyed their trip to the Royal Festival Hall yesterday to see the BrightSparks concert: The Colour Monster performed by the @LPOrchestra Inspired by the book The Colour Monster by Anna Llenas, the LPO helped to untangle the Colour Monster’s messy emotions through music!

Just reading this wonderful new autobiography. I was aware of her version for children "Coming to England" before, and had used it in my teaching on @GoldUnivMACL . However this book makes me realise how little I knew about such an inspirational woman. Highly recommended.

Had it not been for support systems and family, who knows what would have happened? They moved from Jo'burg to Cape Town, and thanks to an army of incredible relatives and a loving community, they didn't just manage - they thrived. #ittakesavillage

My grandpa died 63 years ago on this day when my Dad was just 13. He was the first Muslim lawyer on South Africa and he only ever lost one case, which contested the Group Areas Act. I somehow feel sp close. Here he is with my Gran, who I was named for. ❤ Aren't they beautiful?

The dentist said I've got to chew on my right hand side only for the next 12 years. I think that's what he said but he was standing on my left hand side at the time (deaf left ear) so he might have said the next 12 hours or the next free ears. I'll go with 12 years to be safe.

Thought of doing an MA in Children's Literature? We teach one at @GoldsmithsUoL It's the @GoldUnivMACL I co-devised it in 2013/14 and we listen each year to the student feedback to improve it. We run a module where students can devise a project of taking books to children.

@teachingmatter @MichaelRosenYes @GoldsmithsUoL @GoldUnivMACL I'm afraid we don't offer it remotely. You have to come in, meet us, work with other students, and debate key issues. It's fun!

@MichaelRosenYes @GoldsmithsUoL @GoldUnivMACL I would love to do this. I did my pgce at Goldsmiths. Can this be done remotely? Live in London but not south?
