Tanzanian National Plant Genetic Resources Centre safeguards around 11,000 seed samples of important local crops and supports farmers through seed fairs and community seed banks. The Crop Trust is proud to partner with them through the #BOLDProject and BOLDER Initiative.

Partners from Vietnam, Laos, Pakistan and Thailand met in Bangkok for a workshop on aligning food systems with NAPs and NDCs. The workshop, led by @IGES_EN, @UNFCCC RCCs and the Crop Trust’s BOLD Project, highlighted the role of crop diversity for resilient food systems.

A powerful week in Arusha with #BOLDProject partners - collaboration, strategy planning and field insights to advance crop diversity conservation and use for climate-smart food systems.  We are grateful to our Tanzanian hosts and to Norway for their continuous support.

This month, six national genebanks met at @BiovIntCIAT_eng for a gap analysis workshop - a method to identify missing diversity in their collections.  Under the #PowerofDiversity project, Colombia, Kenya and Zambia are focusing on opportunity crops to boost climate resilience.

📢 Colombia has selected its two opportunity crops: chontaduro and sidra. After two days of analysis with Crop Trust, AGROSAVIA, government representatives, research centers, agricultural unions and entrepreneurs, these two crops were selected from a list of 48 traditional crops.
