@emilynz My fav solo tramping tent is the MSR Hubba NX. Performs in cold & windy (NZ) winter. Had it for 2 years, happy to carry for multi-day hikes. Only downside is the initial investment. Side note: I’ve tried ⛺️ propped up w/ hiking poles- level of comfort 👎

Side note: my ⛺️ is now not even dew-proof, so it performs purely aesthetic & bug protection &privacy functions. Any recommendations for reasonably lightweight tramping tents would be appreciated 🙏🏼

Very relatable thread to my experience. Recently had a faculty staff said to me: you worked so hard for your PhD, and now you’re in tech sales. I smiled in return, slightly disheartened by those who think that PhDs are only successful if u stay in academia.

@Xindiwangsta Yeah, Air NZ crews have always been fantastic, so I was a bit disappointed by this experience. Hah, can’t wait to hear ur story! We should do another catch up soon. (Prob not next week tho, I’m off to Palmy/Welly for work again).

Yesterday AM, in a packed Akl regional Koru Lounge, it was very noisy so only caught my flight no. in the announcement. Went up to the gate, tried to board with app but got the red beep. @FlyAirNZ staff assumes I don’t speak English, starts waving hands 1/2

@FlyAirNZ Thanks, really appreciate it. I was on NZ5035. First (hopefully only) bad experience. Air NZ is still my fav airline.
