Miami didn’t lose because of the format.
They lost because they can’t defend in transition and haven’t been able to all year. They lost because Guzan was a monster and Messi & co couldn’t figure him out. They lost because the game is played on the field and not paper. Great regular season but the format isn’t why they lost, they lost because they weren’t the better team in 2 of the 3 games vs a team that had 34 points fewer than they did in the regular season. Facts. 🎯👊🏼🤷🏼

Jordi Alba feels MLS playoff format isn't fair: "We were the most consistent team, we broke the points record, we had a good season but what we wanted was to win these playoffs.... I think this format is a bit unfair. It's been done for many years but I think it should be the champion of one conference against the champion of the other, to make it as fair as possible".
