BBC reporting that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. There is no precedent for a senior member of the royal family being placed under arrest in modern British history. A seismic moment for the monarchy.

Not being on the Roll of the Peerage does not mean Andrew stops being a duke The King doesn't have the power to strip someone of a peerage. HM can only strip "HRH" and "Prince" Peerages (eg duke, earl, baron) are treated as a form of heritable property (incorporeal hereditament). It's been long established that the monarch can't strip someone of their property - only Parliament may do this. Under the Royal Warrant requiring maintenance of the Roll of the Peerage, any peer not entered on the roll shall not 'be addressed or referred to by any title attaching to his Peerage in any civil or military Commission, Letters Patent, or other official document'. In other words, being struck from the Roll of the Peerage simply means that if Andrew subsequently receives a military or civil appointment - or if he is mentioned in any other official document - he won't be styled by his peerage title in that document. It's of very limited relevance. Legally, he remains a duke until Parliament legislates otherwise.

@bbargerRC @Andreix84 Mind you, I saw a LOT of angry comments about the visit. Many ppl complained this was just a PR stunt&thought it was right King&Queen were met with such strong emotions&actions. So it wasn´t all "rosy". Personally, I think F&L showed what they are made of. They faced the music!
