i once worked as a live-in nanny for 3 small kids in hawaii. the parents were burnt out and didn’t really like parenting. they had 2 nannies covering 7am-8pm 7 days a week. the dad worked a few hours a day and the mom didn’t work. years later i saw the dad had started a blog about parenting and financial independence. in the blog he said that self-employment was important to him bc it allowed him to spend all of his time with his kids. he said that in over a decade of parenting, he’d never so much as hired a babysitter for his kids. anyway, there’s a good chance ppl trying to sell you some lifestyle thing are lying thru their teeth.

An 82 year old man named Luis Leon came to the US in 1987. He sought asylum from political persecution in Chile. He’s been in the US ever since & was granted a green card. He lost his wallet (and green card) in June & when he went to replace it he was disappeared by ICE 🧵

He was then deported to a third party country. What happened: ICE agents cuffed him on the spot; his wife was held 10 hours with no explanation. Family kept in the dark: They received mysterious calls from a woman claiming to be an immigration lawyer—first offering help, then falsely saying Leon had died. Secret transfer: Leon was routed through a Minnesota detention center and flown to Guatemala – a country with which he has zero ties. No ICE paperwork or public deportation record exists. How family found out: A relative in Chile eventually located him alive, hospitalized in Guatemala. Health risk: Leon has diabetes, high blood pressure and a heart condition; his current condition remains unknown as relatives race to reach him. F—k ICE and Trump.

My husband & I are unhappy w/ @dreamcloudsleep delivery service. We ordered a King mattress & foundation w/ white glove service, but @HGTrucking , did not deliver. Despite paying, the mattress is missing & NOT tracked. What recourse do we have to obtain the mattress we ordered?
