I felt lost for 2 yrs after having to retire from sport, it was like a light had gone out inside. So last year I set a goal to do this cycle in Italy. I lost 3.5 stone, got fit, & this cycle was the first time in 3 yrs that I felt myself again. Planning the next challenge now! 🚴🏻‍♀️

@Juliecdoyle @Harry_sPals Hi Julie Thank you for your kind words. I’ve not decided whether I’m going to do future challenges for charity or not yet, however if I do, I’m an ambassador for a charity which runs a retreat for families who’ve gone through/are going through this so it’d be for them ❤️

@JBsTwoCents This is tragic. Our family also received devastating news about the poor prognosis for my grandson and there was nobody to talk to. As a consequence we set up a small charity @Harry_sPals to support parents who have had devastating news - please get in touch if you need support

@PaulNewsome36 @JohannaSaunders It’s very credible - it’s just not discussed because its just seen as “normal” - Im sure women of my age could probably all relate to this - I certainly can tell very similar stories from school onwards - often just seen as banter here’s hoping it’s different for younger ones

@JohannaSaunders This catalogue of abuse is somewhat difficult to give credence to. I know lots of women of all ages, some of whom have been abused in one way or another. None however broadcast that they had been 1) sexually assaulted by male classmates at school, 2) physically assaulted ...

In my lifetime I have been sexually assaulted by male classmates at school, physically assaulted by drunk men at home, sexually assaulted by boyfriends, threatened physically and verbally by men, intimidated by unknown men whilst walking home, groped, leered at, whistled at, flashed at, you name it at by various men, it’s something that happens regularly to women throughout their lives, and no, it’s not all men, and I still like men, but it is a big problem in society and I worry for my daughter. I’ve never been assaulted by a gay man or trans woman, and that’s not to say it doesn’t happen, there are bad people in all sections of society, but it’s not the norm, and I know who I’d feel safer around. Irrational hatred just serves to perpetuate the real issues.
