I was sitting with a neighbour I casually hang out with over tea or drinks and she mentioned how happy she was that Mamata lost and BJP won, saying her friends in Kolkata were celebrating. The topic then shifted to UP, she said she really likes Yogi and when I asked her reason, she said she likes him because he is “Kattar Hindu” and he has controlled Muslims. I told her on her face that this says a lot about you and didn’t take the conversation any further. This is exactly why I prefer keeping my circle small and staying away from political discussions, because once I understand how someone thinks, I cannot like them the same way or feel at ease around them.

If BJP really develops Bengal as claimed, it'll be Bengal's gain, but rest of India's loss. Many smart, hardworking Bengalis will move back to their home state. And many communist, bhodrolok bokachodas will move out of Bengal & into our cities, hamare dimaagh ka bhosda banane

Tamil Nadu, with a literacy rate of over 80%, voted for an actor-led party. They should stop taunting North Indians about literacy levels. Even Bihar, with roughly 60% literacy, did not elect Bhojpuri film stars to power.

27 Lakh Voters were deleted in West Bengal. These were not 'dead people' or 'bangladeshis'. These were real people who had already appealed to get their votes restored. The Supreme court could’ve delayed the West Bengal elections until the tribunals finished hearing the appeals of these voters. But they didn’t. Only around 1607 voters were restored in time by phase 2 of these elections. Almost every appeal that was heard turned out to be a wrongful deletion. In any functional democracy, this would not count as a free and fair election where a large section of voters have lost their voting rights. I'm not saying that TMC would've won for sure if they were added back, maybe BJP would still win, but the question is about the fairness of these elections. Free and fair elections are a spectrum. Ever since Delhi-Maharashtra-Bihar-Bengal, this needle has moved more and more towards being unfair. Each time somehow the opposition parties participate as usual in the electoral process thinking that they can still pull of a win despite the compromised EC, ED, CBI etc. and each time they have been proven wrong after 2024 Lok Sabha. The question is, at what point will they feel that the level of unfairness is so unfair that elections should be boycotted? I personally feel TMC should have refused to participate in these elections until all those 27 lakh appeals were finished being heard.

@gurjota It's not sum of vote that matters but the winning in each constituency. Most of the margin of wins are less than 10k and deletion impact at constituency level.

Many tweets about missed opportunity by Rajnikant. Many Gen Z may not know. Rajni's time was 1996. His influence and popularity in Tamil Nadu was such that he would have won almost all the assembly seats. I'm not exaggerating. Vijay is young for politics and has come in right time. People choosing him as Chief Minister is a rare opportunity. He has few decades of political career ahead of him. Time and timing plays a very crucial role.

@chandrarsrikant He dithered at the last minute plus he tried at very old age. Vijay did good thing by jumping when age was with him. Why Kama Hassan couldn't even open the account is puzzling though

This is simply outrageous .. A section of the Vikramshila bridge in Bhagalpur, Bihar has collapsed! Thankfully no one hurt, but in a country full of engineers, this can only be corruption putting the public at risk
